My girlfriend’s adult children attacked me and now I’m the bad guy. AITA?

It's actually pretty lame for anyone to be taking a strong stance in favor of the OP or not.   We have no idea about the circumstances or past history.   

If he's laid hands on the woman or committed any other type of abuse, the kids were still wrong but the "As****" label is firmly on the shoulders of the OP.   Also, the children's attack, though still definitely wrong (they should have called police and probably got their mom into a different room),  can be understood.  

There is a hint that something of the kind has been in play, since the argument OP mentions is about HER social media accounts.  

I mean ... who here fights with somebody over the other person's social media accounts?

Well the sheer volume of people who get worked up by who's friended who, or follows whomever on social media... it seems like quite a few people do that. In the last 5 years it's been a bone of contention on many posts here.

Now I think it's silly and pointless; willing to be that we'll see this as more of a trend a social media becomes more enmeshed with people's sense of self. I don't think it's healthy, but people do a lot of things I scoff at.
