Angel56656 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I’ve been doing 10 minutes of meditation every day, but lately I’ve been skipping it and had really struggled with studying and working, I still sit down and do it but I want to be able to just do the work without having to stress about it or struggle with low discipline or wanting to do other thing? do you guys have some advices?
ShySoul Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Do it first thing if possible. As the day goes on we get more stress and activities added to the plate. We get busy and lose track of time. We get tired and don't have the energy for one more thing. It becomes easier to skip. Mornings can be lighter. We aren't caught up in the rush of daily life yet. So get a good nights sleep and wake up a few minutes earlier so you can center yourself and meditate from the beginning of the day. Having that rest and calm can really benefit you for the rest of the day. You might need to force yourself to do it at first. But, as with anything, once you get in the habit of it you'll find it automatic. Alternatively you could do it before you go to sleep as a way to wind down. Important thing is to block out a time for it. I'm just more a morning person, so find that is easier and works better for me.

Reward yourself for doing X amount of work. Find the time/times of day where you are most alert. At those times tackle the hardest stuff -the stuff you tend to procrastinate about. Most people who are busy with school need discipline and feel some amount of stress and struggle depending on what's going on -test coming up, project deadline, etc What helps me are making lists and checking off to do lists. Staying hydrated. Getting enough sleep. Putting my phone in another room if at all possible or face down -often I have to have it on in case there's an issue related to my son/school. I make small goals I know I can reach. Good luck!
