Hey old friends on ENA

Just as the title says... IDK. I'm full of emotions feels like a dark time and the energy really hits me.

How you? What I miss?🤣

Sigh, have a feeling it's going to get very dark, very soon. Also struggling to handle my feelings and stay positive, trying to find something encouraging.

Any specific feelings you can identify? Maybe we can all get through these troubled times together.

Hi Lam...long time.

I'm sorry you're going through a dark time. Lots of new members since you were last here. I'll check back tomorrow as I can't stay awake.

Hi HGO!

Thanks for saying hi.

Get some rest. ❤️

Fo shizzle...

Just fear,anxiety, dread...lol. not that's it's funny.

I'm trying to understand the world around me because I clearly read some very important things wrongly. but I don't know if there was any more I could have done better or differently. So I'm not sure.

It's disappointment for sure, too.

Yes. We need to help each other. I'm trying to make space in my brain.  lol

Fear, anxiety, dread, panic, depression, anger, disappointment, confusion, resignation, hope...

Did I miss anything? lol

We all do the best we can at the time with what we've got at the time. There is probably always something else we could have done, but no point in going back and beating ourselves up about it. Past is the past. What counts now is how we move forward into the future. It's redoubling our efforts to get things right the next time

And even if we do everything perfect, most things are out of our hands. We can only affect our little piece of the world. If you are trying your best to what you can in, that's all that can be expected.

I alternate between not understanding the world at all and understanding it too much. You're guess is as good as mine.

Some man or just world in general?

We can always do some things better. But I dont have too many regrets in life. I know that I didnt do harm to anyone and that I always tried to do good. But lots of stuff dont just depends on us. All we can do is try to do good. If you did that than you shouldnt regret your actions. Again, not everything should be on you. And who knows why its good that some things happen. Even if we dont see it like that currently.

Why dark times?

Hi should have! or as I like to say-  shoulda!

I'd rather not say.  It's that ok? Its funny in some ways I wonder does the why matter?  I'm focusing on the feelings in this thread (wink wink). Whether we decide something is valid or not can just be a band aid. I don't know.  what do you think? Is the cause important?

Thank you so much. I know people go through things. Thought I'd talk about my feelings here... helps me and maybe someone else.

I am trying to be healthy and also be kind to myself. I'm not perfect and I don't need to make it like I have to be. you know?

Finding that grace.

I'm so glad to see you and I am sorry you're struggling. I actually just messaged another member with a podcast episode I just listened to -and it might resonate with you too -disclaimer I didn't listen to all of it -75%.  It's the Shriver episode on the podcast No Small Endeavor -Lee Camp is the host. Shriver is from the Kennedy family. It doesn't talk about religion or politics, FYI.  Some of the other episodes do.

(((((Hello Lambert!))))

Holding you in my thoughts.

Yes, I've been shaken at times by my own misreadings. It forces me to question how much I actually know about anything. But then I remind myself that I'm as entitled to make mistakes as anyone else, and there's a difference between being 'wrong' about some things as opposed to being 'wrong' as a human, essentially.

There is no one single or simple way to be human.

Sometimes I decide to duck and take cover for a time to embrace what I think of as allowing myself to be stupid. I like to see how well I can roll with that. I try to think of all the people who I love dearly despite the mistakes they've made. Imperfection is a comfort to me when I can make the right shift in my otherwise perfectionistic thinking.

I can't recall where I recently read a good line, "Successful people view a failure as nothing more than feedback."

Hang in there, luv!

"You'll be even better when you begin to understand what you do not understand."

It's a paradox. That's life, a constant search for understanding, not understanding, and starting all over again.

Really annoying if you ask me. 😉

Think the why and cause can matter depending on the circumstances. But the feelings are what matters most. It's the feelings that stick with us long after the event happens and cause us to modify our behavior, our thoughts, even our beliefs. It's what we have to wrestle with all the time, try to make the most of and sort through.

I fight depression constantly. It's an up and down battle. Sorry you are facing that struggle. Having people around to listen or be supportive makes a world of difference. Doesn't even matter the details. We are all going through unique problems in our lives, but the feelings we have in dealing with them are universal, really getting to the soul of who we are.

Please, share as much or as little as you'd like. Have a feeling I'll like what you have to say.

Not that this is a cure all @Lambert but whenever I feel down,  I read my subscription newspapers (or others can read anything online) about the world and then suddenly I have gratitude.  I have clean water,  there are no bombs exploding nearby,  my family and I don't suffer from famine,  we have shelter,  have enough to eat and those types of basics are easily taken for granted.  It may sound trivial but once I put it into perspective,  suddenly my woes pale in comparison.  Then my depressive thoughts are no longer so intense as before.  I see the light and realize millions of other people are worse off than I am.  I know numerous people would trade places with me in a heartbeat.

I hope you feel better @Lambert

@Lambert I understand.  Despite millions of other people having a worse life,  we are universally consumed with our own troubles.  Whenever I feel down about anything,  at the moment,  I'm not always thinking about the less fortunate or the disadvantaged.  I'm overwhelmed with my own worries and concerns at the moment.  I'm sure it's the same with you and many other people.

I hope your day in the sun ☀️ 🌞  will come sooner than later @Lambert.
