I'm talking in respect to her 13 year old son, and his friend.

Not only would it be embarrassing for her son, but confusing and embarrassing for his friends.

As a parent, it just makes sense to cover up.

As for your rant on live and let live.. you live your life, not arguing that at all. But I still stand that it makes sense to consider everyone's comfort and not just yours.

I almost never wear a bra. I hate bras. They are terribly uncomfortable no matter what brand or size I wear. Instead I wear a snug tank top or a sleeveless crop top under my shirt. I only wear an actual bra if I'm going into the office to work. 

I do feel covering up in front of non-immediate family members or visitors is appropriate. I put on a robe over my pajamas when I went to the kitchen or was going to the bathroom when I lived with my brother and nephew, for example, because I was braless.
