Why did he fist bump me?

I'm new at the office and a co-worker was the first one to make friendly conversation with me, after that every time he sees me he says"hi, hey, what's up, etc" (he only does this with me, every time we see eachother within the office), and sometimes we have short conversations because we bump with eachother but today, he was leaving and told me "I'm leaving, have a great weekend " and fist bumped me. I was so confused! that I waiwed goodbye and then fist bumped him back. Does he likes me or is giving me the friend zone signal?

My thought is coming from the perspective of me never thinking of getting involved with someone romantically at work. I guess I would do this with someone new because I know it can be hard for someone just starting at a new place. I'd like to make them feel welcome and part of the team.

Fist bumping is a friendly gesture. I do it all the time to both people I'm interested in and those I'm not interested in.

Since he talked to you, he made contact with you and he wished you to have a great weekend. Would you prefer he ignored you? Or do you want him to date you? I'm guessing you're young. Not everyone who talks to you at work is trying to date you.

Do you want his platonic greetings and goodbyes to mean more then that?
