Jess1998 Posted February 12, 2018 Share Posted February 12, 2018 So my boyfriend and I were together for basically 1yr and and half until I decided to break up with him because I felt as though I was in a relationship with myself this occurred in the month of January. However, since this happened we continued talking and we are still relatively very close. Just recently we had sex and I can't seem to get the thought out of my head that I may be being used and that I may just be a side piece. How can I him this without things getting awkward? You don't need to tell him you feel like a side piece, given that you're not being used - you've been consenting to this, no? You can just tell him that you don't want to continue seeing him since you're not a couple anymore. Don't worry about making things awkward. The break-up already happened. If by "side chick" you mean he's committed to another woman while having sex with you, I have no idea. But as of now, he's not your boyfriend and hence isn't really responsible for anything you might consider in line with an actual relationship. You don't get "used" by not assuming you're a power tool to be used. You've got agency and responsibility, so if you want to have sex with this guy, knowing it may well lead nowhere, then just do it. That comes from continuing to hookup after you broke up. Going no contact and deleting and blocking him is the only way to move forward and find a better guy.since this happened we continued talking and we are still relatively very close.
