Kvng1997
Ok so I need advice. I want to propose to my girlfriend but I want to do it on a specific date. I’m not sure if Valentine’s Day or our anniversary is better. Valentine’s Day is the 13th, but our anniversary is the 19th. What date is better? Jillstrand23
Valentine’s Day is the 14th
Seraphim
14th is Valentine's Day. Anniversary Day might be better, everybody and their dog gets engaged Valentine's Day.
mustlovedogs
Neither. I would personally rather get engaged on a non significant date. I find that more romantic because there’s no social pressure and no expectations.
Lady34
Anniversary.
journeynow
Why not surprise her and pop the question before Valentine's Day and your Anniversary? Make is special that way. A Valentine's Day proposal seems trite to me.
DaisyMayPorter
Do whatever feels right. If it feels right on the 19th, do it then. If it feels right tomorrow, do it then.

ButterflyWrists
Anniversary by far. But I hate the idea of proposing on a significant holiday lol
itsallgrand
I vote too for anything but Valentine's Day. Practically speaking, a day where it's not super close or on any other holiday and will be a good chance you will be able to go out and celebrate each year would be sweet. Congratulations on finding someone you want to marry and best wishes on the proposal !
glitterfingers
The day after your anniversary
Hollyj
I would say the anniversary. Valentine's Day is not very original.
indea08
Plan a special date for both days. If Valentines Day turns out great, pop the question. If it doesn't go great, you have anniversary for backup. And make sure you have someone there to take pictures.
abitbroken
Valentine's Day is cliche. Make it its own day. And make sure you have someone there to take pictures. I would advise against this. It should be your special moment. That's too much pressure and she won't feel free to react naturally to kiss you or not, etc versus playing to the crowd. I would ask her to marry you after getting back from dinner on one of those nights or a special night all its own. By and large, most married friends valued the intimate, private proposal and the one who made the proposal so public didn't last Or what if she says she is not ready? Or feels pressured to say yes because others are ready to snap their cameras?
