Tick
Hello, I just had a conversation and I need your opinion: We talked about relationship in general. Then I mentioned that some women may wish to go shopping together with their partner. So my friend flipped out and comment about my though like "OMG what kind of disturbing thought do you have", shaking heads and looks at me like I'm being asocial. I don't know what to say back and my friend was judging me like I'm bad... What do you think about it. Thanks, Tick Link to comment
Seraphim
I go shopping with my husband all the time what's the problem with that ? Nothing. Link to comment
j.man
Unless there was something else said, your friend sounds weird. Not much else I can say to that. I grocery shop with my lady and that's about it. I'd be caught dead before I went with her into a clothing or jewelry store, though. That'd be about 12 hours of my life I'd never get back. She can give me her little runway show when she's bought what she wanted and brought it home. But that's just me. Maybe some dudes would love such an experience. Link to comment
pippy longstocking
Was he just joking ? Being a bit extra ? It is the stereotypical scene of man sat bored out of his skull with a finger rammed up his nose , thinking of the footie and us women going in every shop in a 10 mile radius and going back to shop one to actually buy something. Seraphim
My husband is a bigger shopper than me. He even goes on his own just to walk around malls and stores because I don't want to. Link to comment
yatsue
Perhaps your friend misunderstood regular generic shopping for sexually charged shopping? Like going bra or panty shopping, maybe buying toys together? Or they think you want to go regular clothing shopping with a partner, just to lustfully stare at the new clothing bought. There's also the more controlling view in going with them only so you have the opportunity to approve of said partner's clothing. I'm reaching for any negative possibilities here, I don't know your friend. Your friend could be sarcastic in what was said, or they misunderstood what you were saying. Anyway, I would have challenged their response by asking what are you talking about, this is regular innocent shopping I'm talking about here?! Link to comment
MissCanuck
Huh? That exchange and your friend's reaction doesn't make a lot of sense, unless you're leaving out some details. Why would anyone care if someone's partner goes shopping with them? Link to comment
melancholy123
I personally hate shopping and my husband likes it just a bit more than I do, which for him isnt much. He'd go shopping with me if I asked him to, there's nothing weird or wrong about people shopping together of any or either gender. Your friend sounds weird unless there's more to the story than you told us. Link to comment
