Grieving the loss of a pet

After 15 wonderful years today we said goodbye to our sweet Italian Greyhound, Diego. He came into our lives when my youngest son was born. We rescued him at the age of 4 and he was a true part of our family. We are all sad, grieving. I'm trying to comfort my kids and take comfort that he lived a good life, was well loved and passed peacefully.

I understand how it feels to lose a pet, they are truly family members....nothing less! I feel so grateful to the Universe that your Diego was blessed with your loving family for all these years. You are truly an angel to rescue a helpless doggie and give him a wonderful life. I truly hope and pray you find comfort in the fact that he was loved beyond belief and treasured, and wanted for nothing. You changed his life. And when you change a life - you change the world. Dogs are such faithful, devoted souls. We are heroes in their eyes. It is no wonder that we love them so. Take solace in the fact that you provided for and protected this sweet soul during his lifetime. I am sorry for your loss of your sweet Diego.
