constant physical pain

Recommended Posts

Has anyone experienced a constant physical pain in the gut on either side of the solar plexus post breakup ? I have had this 24/7 (only while awake) for 6 months now and after medical tests... they found nothing wrong in the area.

I think it is emotional pain due to my being blindsided. I've read that one's 3rd chakra (ego) can become blocked up... I suppose I'll have it until my true healing occurs.

I'm really getting sick of this sensation though... it feels like 2 knives jabbing up under my rib cage.

anyone have any suggestions ?

I did have something like this when my father was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was running everyday and I think the emotions caused me to tense all my stomach muscles and I pulled something. After six months of pain, I went to the doctor. She told me to take Advil and get a colonoscopy! (I don't recommend getting a colonoscopy!) It did stop about four months later, probably around the time we found out the surgery and treatment worked. So it turned out to be nothing, but I would be careful just the same. It could be anything from being tense to acid reflux to a kidney stone to gallbladder to ... Just keep an eye on it and see your doctor if anything changes.

If you are open to the idea, you could talk to a homeopath, naturopath, Chinese medicine expert, chiropractor and/or massage therapist. I believe in all of those people and they have helped me far more than traditional Western medicine has. I had a chiro who was also a homeopath/naturopath and he helped me immensely. My daughter is a registered massage therapist with many specialties that can help with more than just what massage alone can do, so I recommend thinking outside the box!

I had constant chest pain for a while after my break up. It's normal, it's called broken heart syndrome and it is actually a real medical thing. Sometimes emotional pain and show as physical pain. I don't think there's much you can do except wait for it to slowly fade over time.

Is it constant on severity or is it worse in the mornings? Also, anything else? Headaches, nausea or change in BMs? Have you lost significant weight? You stomach and colon can be heavily affected by stress levels. A lot of people might think they have something under control but have constant gut pains. Often this is due to repressing things. I have a DO GI specialist family member. He went into the field because my family has a lot of stomach/colon issues to do physiological reasons. It plays a huge part in colon health.

My BMs & colon are fine. Lost 10 lbs over 6 months due to breakup & low appetite.

The pains however are constant...like knives up under the ribcage either side of my solar plexus.

Thinking about the Ex/breakup/solitude seems to intensify the pain slightly... That's what I constantly think about evenings & weekends.

When I'm busy at work or distracted the pain is less noticeable. For sure there are unresolved emotions but what can I do about it ?

'Alchemist ' Does your relative have any tips for resolving the emotions in this situation ? (Keep in mind that I workout 5x / week and eat healthy diet).

If it is that bad of pain and you are quite sure it isn't from anything else I would try to see a counselor. Also a doctor could give you a temporary script for some anti depressants.

I was hoping it was just radiating pain from your colon because of how long you have been experiencing it.

I would try to psychoanalytical angle now.

Go to WebMd and I think youll have a list of 4,923 illnesses you might have. Or it could be stress related to the break up.

Do you go to counseling? Do you go to the gym or do something to release the stress? Try going out for walks and see if that helps..

It could indeed be emotional pain expressing itself physiologically. I have definitely experienced this. Deep breathing/meditation can help. Also try listening to soothing music or nature sounds. I listen to an ocean track on YouTube at night and it helps. You may find relief by crying as well. Also helpful are Epsom salt baths. The magnesium helps release some of the pain. Journal. Keep breathing. One step forward at a time.

Thinking outside the box is surely advisable. I have definitely experienced this emotional pain and whereas deep meditation, listening to soothing mucic, crying can help this syndrome is a real medical thing. For my case, a massage therapist service was really handy, one step forward at a time. I remember scheduling for a daily session, it did wonders. Afterwards, the specialists advised me to visit relaxish.com/best-massage-chair-reviews/ and get myself a massager that I could use at in the comfort of my home. Life has never been the same.

You may want to try it!
