Breaking up. ..

Me and my boyfriend have been together since , January 23rd 2016. we were about to a year and 5 months ... I thought we'd be together forever he is five years older than me but I'm a minor still. I understand he's finishing community college and I'm nearly done with high school. He lives in cali and I on the east coast. 3 hour time difference but that never stopped anything I mean like we would always FaceTime and I'd stay up until 3am if I had to just to talk to him.. well recently he got a new job as a sandwich maker at subway. He works with this girl and as you know at subway there is basically only two people in the peroration area and subway isn't so busy .. unless it's lunch hours . Well he started catching feelings for her and he doesn't like me anymore another factor that might go into this is that recently we haven't been facetiming much as I have a job and been studying my ass off for finals and state test needless to say we haven't talked at all much so we recently broke up he claimed I was to "jealous" when he put me on pause to text someone I figured it was a girl and he's taking anatomy with her he asked if that was ok I said yes because I though work friends would stay work friends and school buddies that's it not texting non-stop and so I asked him to show me he messages and so he did no questions asked but the next day I noticed it was more and more and he didn't want to show me I made him and he asked her how her day was going he didn't ask me that ... his own gf who I thought he loved .. I'm so sad because how could he ??! He got me a promise ring , we got matching phone cases with our pictures .. we've done things... and he's my longest I FaceTime him yesterday for the last time and he was crying claiming he loves me but doesn't want to do anything to work on us so I decided it was time to let go I told him I'd talk to him in a year but I miss him so much And he likes this girl who he works with and will take a class with but she has a child... like he's not ready to become a step dad not saying that they'll get married but to throw us away like that?? Why.... I'm so hurt and don't know how to move on./

Well, first of all, if you're a minor and he's five years older than you, there's a big chance that he's been breaking some laws for a while here. Furthermore, he probably wants somebody closer to his own maturity level. You're still a young girl, although you may not feel like it at this point, and people go through huge amounts of change in their late teens and early twenties.

 

I'm sorry you've been heartbroken, but take some time to grow as a person individually instead of attaching yourself to someone immediately.
