Yes Seraphim, thoughts and prayers to victims, families and friends and to ALL of London, all of Britain actually. Stay safe everyone! Link to comment

UK is having such a bad time right now. Yes they sure are. I was able to download the Manchester One Love concert, watching/listening to it now. Liam Gallagher (Oasis) my new hero. D1mps
I'm in the UK and I can tell you that these attacks are causing quite a scare amongst us. Armed police on the streets etc., make us feel a little uneasy, as we are not so used to seeing them around with gun in hand. Awful awful attacks and everyone is suffering. Stay safe. Peace and love. Peace and love.I've always admired the unarmed police procedure there as it puts the onus on them to handle a situation without escalation, but I definitely do understand having them armed right now. Hoping for the best in the UK, and in Europe in general. I think sometimes we here across the pond don't fully appreciate the two oceans that keep us relatively safe. Link to comment

I know, my friend lives there and she said same thing, The massive police presence must be REALLY scary. BIG hugs to all you guys. I am scheduled to fly over there on July 10th so will get to see for myself I guess. I will be staying outside of London, in Kent. Trip has been planned for long time. I hope things have calmed down a bit by then. Anyway, hang in D1mps, and TRY to stay positive. We're all thinking of you. Link to comment

Limiya
It's shaking everyone here, but the British spirit is very much strong. I was listening to a radio interview this morning on the way to work. They were interviewing someone who was in one of the local restaurants when it was all happening. He explained how the staff in the restaurant kept everyone locked inside, safe, and helped keep people calm and went above and beyond their job titles. The interviewer asked him if he was planning on going back to London Bridge anytime soon, and he responded quick as a flash that he had already been back to the restaurant, because he hadn't had chance to pay his bill for his meal. That he was going to go back as soon as it opened to give everyone extra tips and to order the same meal he didn't get to finish. Just showed the typical UK spirit right there. Makes me proud to be British right now. Much love. xx Link to comment

nutbrownhare
The account of the latest incident was absolutely heart-rending, as with all happenings like this. Heroism of ordinary people is as much a feature of them as the brutality of the perpetrators. Unfortunately terrorist incidents of one kind or another have long been a feature of life in London and other major cities, to an extent. Riots, which happen from time to time, are very scary also. It's SO important not to lose your spirit in the face of this kind of attack. Perpetual bomb scares were a feature of the 1970's and 80's; now the major threats come from a different direction, but the same applies... if we cave in, if we lose sight of our own humanity and that of others - that's when violence and hate start to win. Absolutely. I remember a local pub being bombed back in the 80's (I think) by the IRA and it killed everyone inside. My parents were meant to be there that evening but cancelled last minute. Unfortunately friends weren't so lucky. Unfortunately you're right about this being just coming from another direction. Link to comment

itsallgrand
I wish prayer was kept out of this. Those who are hurting, and living with fear and trauma, are in my hearts. And I'll do anything I possibly can to try and have a positive impact. Link to comment

Limiya
Did you guys hear about the Londoner who took on three of these terrorists with his bear hands on London Bridge? He got stabbed multiple times but survived. His reasoning was he was a Milwall (soccer club) supporter and therefore no one could intimidate him. Plus he'd had a few pints of beer which made him feel extra confident. Apparently he shouted 'F**K you I'm Milwall' and just went at them. One of his friends brought him a Running book while in hospital titled 'Learn how to run'. British sense of humour. Link to comment
