A friend of mine (28 f) and I (24 m) have been working on themed cosplays for about a week now, hanging out every day from when we get off work till before bed. She and I have been friends for about a year, and 2 weeks ago it finally clicked that I have feelings for her.

She has a boyfriend...

She and I are both honest people, so I know she won't do anything relationship related with me unless she breaks up with him 1st... and I would do the same. Thing is... We have been spending a LOT of time with one another. Cooking, crafting, and just generally hanging out. Alongside her boyfriend. She has been laughing at things that most people find annoying about me (I think...) and so I feel like she at least kinda likes me. Then today happened.

We were hanging out for most of the afternoon because some friends canceled group plans. Her boyfriend was out hanging with them, and we opted to work on costumes. We haven't been alone more than 3 times since we became friends, and this was the the 1st time it was just the 2 of us all day. About 3 or 4 times throughout the afternoon she and I would make eye contact randomly, and I would catch the faintest glimpse of her winking. Until the last time when it was super obvious. Like she winked and smiled while we held eye contact for a couple beats. No context for the winks, and they didn't even seem sensual (but I have never knowingly had a girl wink sensually at me, so I doubt I would know). I'm not sure what to think of those... what do you think?

I think you need to cool your jets. Dude, she has a boyfriend. If you want to wait on the sidelines until you called in that's fine. But going onto the field before that and you're asking for trouble.

Besides, if she's doing this to you while she has a boyfriend, who's to say she won't do this to you? Is this the type of girl you want? I know I wouldn't.

And let's think about this logically. What if she breaks up with her boyfriend? Do you think she's going to come to you and forget about him like he never existed? Highly unlikely. You're looking at a whole lot of issues just waiting for you.

Bleh, when you're right you're right. If I want to be with her it needs to be on the right terms, not just her breaking up with him for me. Thanks, I needed someone to give me a shot of reality.

All good man. We've all been there. I'm just trying to help prevent any possible negative consequences, including having your heart broken.

Good luck.

She's off the market. Don't flirt with her anymore.

Go find another girl (who is available) that you can put your energy toward. Interfering with the relationships of others because you're jealous is not cool and pretty weak. You should start distancing yourself from her immediately.

IF she were available, she'd be more impressed if she saw you with other women that are clearly attracted to you.
