So I'm 16 and a sophomore in highschool. Last Friday I went to a party and met this girl there. I didn't talk to her much because I'm really shy. She left just as I go the courage to go talk to her. And I'm in a group chat with some juniors and she's in it. So the next night someone in the chat asked if we all could hang out, and the girl and I were the only ones that couldn't. Then she texted me out of nowhere and we just started talking. We were talking about golfing, which I suck at, and she asked if I wanted to go next weekend. She said she also sucks. I said yeah, and I'm not sure if she means as a date, or just to play golf. We were both talking smack about who was going to win, and she wanted to make a bet. The loser would buy food afterwards. I said deal, and we kept talking about other stuff. Early today I promised myself I wouldn't text first, because I have a problem with that. After school she texted me and we had a short conversation. Oh and I forgot to mention she walked by me at school and said hi. But I'm not sure how interested she is. The conversations aren't one way, so that's good. Does anyone have any information that could help me? Or at least how to act on a date like this.

Just take things easy don't over think it. Get to know her as a person but also flirt a bit and see how she responds. Focus on having a nice time together more than anything else. At the end of the date if things have gone well, see if you can give her a goodnight/bye kiss.

Act like it's a date until you get a clear signal either way. In this circumstance it's better to risk rejection, than risk missing an opportunity by being to passive. Flirt a bit. Smile at her, make good eye contact. Look for reasons to touch her. The upper arm is a good safe place. If things go well, ask her out on a date at the end. Don't be afraid to use the word 'date'.

 

Relax and have fun. If she's into you, it will be very easy. If she's not, there's nothing you can do anyways,.
