chrisdiakiw3
I'm in my junior year of high school and in my Chemistry class there's a really nice girl that a few of my friends are close with. I've had tiny, brief encounters with her in the past but never really got to know each other. There have been multiple times where I've had a chance to actually talk to this girl, but I've been too shy to start up a conversation. On every single occasion I was lost on what to say to this girl without 1) trying to sound needy, 2) saying something wrong that'll upset her or her friends, or 3) make her form a bad impression of me. Many times have I come home from school mad or distraught because of my shallow efforts to make a move, and I just don't know what to do.
abitbroken
You won't be a creep if she is in your class and you talk about the upcoming test or something class related just to break the ice. Maybe you have to be easier on yourself and not look at it as a goal to say the perfect line. Or just say hi if you pass her in the hall.
mfan
Say hi casually. Wait for her to say it back. Ask how was your weekend? If she gives a one-word answer, say did you do anything special? That should get her talking to you and put you on her radar. Next step might be to invite your friends to do something like studying or get a snack, and invite her too.
