Should I leave my number?

I met a girl in my apartment complex the other day (yesterday) when I was walking my puppy . She came up to me and pet my dog and we got to talking a little bit, before she left she asked for my name and gave me hers.. I'm really attracted to her and I wanted to maybe leave my number on her car, would that be weird after only one interaction? She told me she just moved in but I am unaware of any boyfriend.. just seems to be her and her dog..

What do you guys think?

* ladies on this forum what do you think?

Should I go for it?

Does that seem desperate?

I'm a male (22yo) she seems to be around (24yo)

Thanks everyone.

Oh my gosh, NO! Have a few more interactions with her at least, find out if she's single or seeing someone, get more indications than just a normal being friendly to the neighbors reaction.

And if it looks good then ask her for coffee and take it from there. And she turns you down, be graceful and accept her no the first time. On the other hand if she keeps finding reasons to show up at your place, you two get on like crazy, she hints she'd be open to something then go with it.

In other words, give you and the girl time for something to develop IF anything is going to. This isn't like in a club or a bar where if they reject you or you have one date then discover "Oh, wish I'd known about THAT before I asked her out," then it's no big deal, because you never have to see each other again.

That saying about don't ship where you eat, kind of goes here. But at least give it some time.

Just run into her again. Slipping a number under a door is a no-no. Slipping it in a mailbox could be acceptable if she ASKED you for information - ie, your pup was from a rescue and she said she was looking for a certain kind of dog and then you find out your rescue has a dog like that and you slip the note in her box if you happen to not see her for a week. Be neighborly, not creepy.

She's likely looking for new friends. She just moved in and wants to get to know the neighbors. In another context she might be showing interest. But it's common for someone to introduce themselves when trying to make new friends in a new area.

I think you should continue to get to know her and build a rapport. Then if she seems interested ask her out. Leaving a number is not called for in this scenario. You will be bumping into her again. Why take the risk? There's too little a pay off for such risk, when you can just play it cool and take your time.

You don't have to be a woman to know this would likely come across as weird after one interaction. Especially since you will bump into her again.
