His snoring made us split up

Hello. I had only been seen this guy for 2 months. Great, except he snored. When I talked to him, he said his nose was hit by a cricket ball at high school, and that his last girlfriend complained too. I need my sleep due to my mental health issues. Do you think it is fair of me to have dumped him? He wont go to the Docs or have an operation. I feel guilty to split up with him, but i dont want to sleep on the sofa, and he wont help himself. Please advise.

I mean you mention it so non-chalantly.

Teasing aside, there are plenty of trivial things you're justified in considering a deal-breaker, snoring among them-- particularly just two months in.

There are folks like that who are literally unbearable to sleep in the same room with. Those couples tend to sleep separately. They might do their whole cuddle thing, but once the z's start coming out, they move on. Works for some, not others. Not a big deal if that's not what you envision in your future.

You shouldn't feel bad. He is being selfish if it's treatable and doesn't want to fix this issue.

If he won't help himself then there is nothing you can do. I am sick of men who won't get help for their physical maladies but expect us to work around them -- I have known too many who just won't get help. There was a woman on here years ago with a fiance who snored terribly -- had some kind of real physical problem and then he would be insulted when she wouldn't sleep next to him all night. Refused to get help. Her solution was to take a sleeping pill every night to keep him happy -- she was taking meds to deal with HIS physical problem (and he had no issue with it) because he was too proud and strong to go to a doctor.

My husband snores up a storm and now he has a CPAP machine, which has improved things dramatically. Some people complain that the CPAP makes some noise, but those are clearly people who have not had to sleep next to a steam engine at full throttle.

Best thing I've read on here in a long time!
