What Do I Do Next?

So I went on a coffee date with a girl from Uni on Friday that I met from a dating app. We ended up just talking after we finished our coffee for several hours until the place closed, the date ended up lasting about 4 or 5 hours. She didn't have a car and got a ride from a friend to the date. Afterwards said she was supposed to get a ride from that same friend but for some reason couldn't and she asked me to drive her home which I did. I am always awful at closing dates and I never know if I should go in for a kiss or a hug. Needless to say I botched the end of the date again, as she was getting out of my car she paused and somewhat leaned over to my side of the car. Then I made some dumb joke about another flat across the street and then she looked confused and then presented her hand for a handshake and left while repeatedly looking back at my car as she walked back in to her flat.

 

I have no idea what to do now. I felt like things went well until I awkwardly ended the date. I want to text her but I have no idea what to say to her.... should I make joke about it or just say I had fun and try and set up another date? Please help this awkward student out.

Just send a text asking her if she wants to spend some more time with you again. I know rejection can be painful for some people, I'm very adventurous, I like to test and find out, like taking a gamble, there isn't a huge loss in finding out what she wants.

Excellent. It went well and this is easily fixed by asking her out again. You don't have to lunge in for a kiss on the first coffee meet. Let her think you're a gentleman, that's all. Text her that you had a great time and when is she free to meet up again.

I agree with the other responses. Just ask her out again. Great if she does. If she doesn't then that's OK. I doubt it will all be because of that moment. Relax and go for it.
