I want to know if anyone has experienced what I am going through.

After a bad break up I had unfriended my ex on every platform except one.I have accepted everything and moved on and forgiven him however I still miss him as my friend and I even get the urge to send him requests on those other platforms as well.It might sound stupid but sometimes I feel like I will be completely healed if we are friends again (shoot me now!! )

It is over and we have both moved on but I miss my friend. Is it normal? In other relationships once it was over it was indeed over I didn't even want them to stay as friends but this time its different. How do I deal with this?

Unfriended an EX? Good.. now keep your distance.

Can't be 'friends' with an ex until you know you're over them and there's no more 'feelings' involved.

If you're completely over them, and they're completely over you...you can choose to extend an olive branch, knowing that they might not accept it.

There are a couple of problems with doing so, but also a couple of benefits.

The problems:

New partners tend to be wary of exes as friends.

You may realize you're not over them, and the feeling isn't mutual.

It's easier to cross boundaries if you're the wishy-washy boundary sort - or they are.

The benefits:

A friend that knows you super well. This can be awesome.

Not feeling like you burned a bridge/ripped pages out of your personal history book.

More friends!

It's hard to go back to being friends with someone you've had a relationship with. It doesn't always work, even when both people really want it to. It tends not to be a one-size-fits-all type of solution in cases like this... so I'd say trust your gut, and if you really think you're over it - attempt to reach out and extend an offer of friendship with no expectation.
