roxy3232
Hi all, new to the site and just looking for someone to talk to. I've recently entered a relationship with amazing friends woman but I'm having a difficult time because she hasn't been in a relationship before. We're 24 and 23 years old and while I've had plenty of relationships she hasn't and I'm having difficulty communicating with her how I feel and figuring out how she feels because she's very shy and reserved. I guess my question is how do I show her how much I care without scaring her because she's not used to having a man care about her. Roxy Link to comment
gebaird
Have her take the 5 love languages quiz (free): / Figure out what here top two love languages are and learn to speak them fluently. Take the quiz yourself so you can more easily express your needs. You are likely the stronger personality in the relationship, so it's important to make sure her opinion is heard and valued. Help her feel completely safe with you. Link to comment
Wiseman2
By taking her on dates regularly, communicating in between, putting your arm around her, holding hands, being romantic and so on. We're 24 and 23 years old and while I've had plenty of relationships she hasn't and I'm having difficulty communicating with her how I feel and figuring out how she feels because she's very shy and reserved. roxy3232
I am a practicing psychologist and I actually took this with some clients when we were covering healthy relationships haha. I wonder if she'd find it weird. I appreciate the replies, like I said I'm just trying not to push things too far because as someone mentioned I'm a more dominant personality I suppose. With both of us full time graduate students I'm just finding if difficult to get her out on dates and spending time together. I suppose that's just normal life stuff, it just is hard being the start of a relationship. Roxy Link to comment
