How can i make friends??

I've had the same high school friends for awhile now and im almost 21. But i don't connect with them that well anymore. They don't invite me out as much anymore. I'm trying to make new friends but i jave no idea how. I feel like i look desperate (which i am). I work with much older people and mostly males. I really want that female close clique that i see everywhere. My girl bestfriend basically unfriended me after 4 years and it was a bad friendship so im sad but its good. My other girl friends I don't see that much. Is it weird to just message someone on twitter/fb like "hey we should hangout some time!" Even though you've never really spoken before??? Hahaha because there are a ton of people I know from afar and i really want to befriend them. They seem to have the same interest in me. I dont know how else to make friends! Help!

Join groups clubs, sports, take lesson, courses, etc. You will find more like-minded people. Don't be afraid to grow up and have friends of all sorts, not a little high school clique. Be someone, have interests and places to go.

 

Volunteer, do things outside of work and school.. You don't make friends as you mentioned with creepy 'lets hang out' messages on social media.
