My guy friend says he loves me every night?

I've known this guy for a little while, but we've become more like best friends in the past few weeks. He's been helping me through drama with my ex and we've just started hanging out a lot more recently...We usually text in the evening when we can't hang out and he always heads off to bed before me, and when he says good night he always says "love you." or "love you babe" which is something he just recently started doing. Does he like me or am I reading too much into it? He's a great guy but I'm really hoping he isn't starting to have feelings for me because I'm still getting over my ex and don't see him as anything more than a close friend.

love ya is what a lot of friends say to each other. Surely you say it to him and he says it back? Be careful not to shift dependence on your ex to this friend and ruin the friendship.

Better make sure he knows that you are NOT interested in any more than friendship.

 

Out of respect he should not be saying that. It isn't love anyways.. No one should mis use that word!

Yup. He d efinitely likes you as something more than a friend and you should let him know that you are not interested. He will keep pursuing in hopes that something changes but it is up to him. You will have told him if something happens down the line.
