I wish
I've been out of the dating game for about 11 years so bare with me please, I could be completely overthinking, as one does... I recently went into the bank and was helped by the an attractive guy (this is what went through my mind as he approached me). We went to his office and he was being very chatty, which I know isn't him being flirty, the bit that confused me was when I took my scarf and coat off he told me I smelt beautiful, his exact words caught me by surprise. We carried on talking about where I live (I needed him to change my address) again made small talk about where it is and how beautiful the area is but then he asked if I owned the house or whether I was renting and also asked whether I live alone... Now, had he been ugly and old I would have found it well creepy! But he was such a lovely looking and open person that needless to say I didn't mind. What I would like to know is, was he flirting or was he just chatty and polite? And do I put on my big girl panties and go back and give him my number? Please guys help xx Link to comment
foolish1985
I personally can not get a definite answer from what you are describing. If you like him, just give him your number. If he likes you, he will call. If not - he will not. What's the big deal? Link to comment
loops17
I agree ^ just go for it. Gotta get back out there at some point right? Link to comment
JaggerJim
I think he was just chatty and polite. I think going back to the bank with your number isn't professional on his end. To be honest, I think maybe exploring some online dating might be more suitable. Link to comment
Sportster2005
His comment about your smell, and his personal questions were unprofessional. So if you you are interested be aware he probably has poor impulse control, and a poor sense of boundaries. Good to know it's looks that separate the creeps from the normal men. Link to comment
nutbrownhare
It just sounds like he was making conversation; within my experience guys in banks (or anywhere else where clerical staff also have a sales role) ARE quite flirtatious these days... it makes customers more likely to buy financial services they don't really need. If you're looking for a relationship, there are many, many resources around to help you do this. If you just fancy a bit of flirtation, then enjoy the attentions of attractive young men but don't attach any importance to it! Link to comment

To "Flirt" a little if it increases business and sales. Link to comment

There have been times when I've been on the verge of saying "Oh come off it, Sonny - I'm old enough to be your mother!" Fun, though! Link to comment
tracyis300
Sounds like he was doing his job. Which is to make the customer feel comfortable giving away personal information! I'm sure there's a policy on hitting on your customer at the bank? So all he was doing was getting to know his customer that would possibly continue to do business at his branch?! My bank does the same thing, and it has come to the point to were they know my name when i walk in (I'm a regular now). So my answers is "yes" you have been out the game for too long!
