Missed my chance

I have been after this girl for 2 years now. I wasn't really good friends with her until she asked me if I want to go to Prom. I was shocked that she'd ask me, but I said yes. I could tell she must've liked me, why else would she ask ME to prom? Fast forward a few months. If taken her out to dinner and movie dating many times and I'd always have fun with her. Fast forward another few months. I met her parents and become really good friends with her best friend. The girl hadn't dated anyone since we started hanging out with each other. So I started to think that maybe we should be dating. That's when I started acting a little differently around her, trying to hint at it. Then she started inviting me over to her house for movie nights. Then the big one, she asked me to come over because her parents weren't home and she was lonely. Looking back now, I know that was a booty call. But when I was there, I was so scared because I was a virgin and didn't know what to do. So by the time that I'd left her house, nothing has happened. Fast forward to my 18th birthday. I was hanging out with the girl and her best friend. Out of nowhere she starts talking about some guy named Austin. She had only know the guy for a week and they'd already slept together. My heart sank because I was going to ask her to go out with me that night. She told me once that she doesn't know what she would do without me, then she pulls this.....

 

I really feel like I missed my chance, but I still really really like her. And the new guy is so selfish it pisses me off. What should my next move be?

It sounds like she's put you in the friend zone for now. Let the Austin thing run its course -- likely it won't last. Then when she's single again, tell her how you feel about her and see what happens.

You were already dating her, and you should have made it known about it (none of this "hinting" stuff). It's obvious that she is trying to "sow her wild oats", and you weren't ready for someone like that.

 

This is just my opinion, but if you're still interested in being with her, then don't play the "friend role". Be assertive, but don't get caught up in some "teen's craziness". First, figure out what you want out of this. Don't play her game if you're not ready, or looking for it.
