I've had 3 serious relationships and all were messed up. I was always told "you really dodged a bullet" because I managed to realize it and leave, no matter how hard it hurt. It reminded me of the scene in the Matrix where Neo said "No" and just stopped all the bullets. And the quote symbolizes where I want to be via the steps I'm taking within myself to improve my choice of mate in the future. I won't have to dodge bullets because I won't put myself in the situation in the first place.
