Seraphim
I do have lightning bolts still in the back of my head through my scalp on the right side . That I don't care about as long as it's not in my face or jaw. I have to order my Lyrica today before I forget and run out of it on the weekend. Link to comment
Seraphim
I have had ZERO pain since I last wrote. I don't know if I am going into a remission but if it continues into January I will talk to the specialist and talk about reducing my medication . Link to comment
sara-pezzini
That's so great! Could also mean the meds are working, cause if they are with me i have zero pain either...how long are you on this dose now? But the neurologist will know how to reduce carefully! Fingers crossed! Link to comment

Seraphim
I have not had a lot of pain since September. So I think the meds have worked or the nerve has calmed down. I see the specialist tomorrow I don't know if he will suggest a decrease. I have accidentally decreased myself by forgetting to take my nighttime doses . No pain at all but caused myself a small breakdown in the process. Link to comment
sara-pezzini
Curious what he'll say! I've missed one or two doses in the past 6 months and i remember the panic I've felt when i discovered that! And of course one dose won't matter cause you've built up a lot but still, i felt real panic so i get what you're feeling. Let me know how it goes today! Link to comment

sara-pezzini
Okay, that will be interesting and nerve wracking at the same time! Will keep my fingers crossed! I was checking here all the time and you got me just before bed! How do you feel about it yourself? Are you scared to do it? Link to comment
Seraphim
I am not afraid no. He wanted me to go to the long acting.( Tegretol ) I said no. It did not work before . He said fine we will stay with tried and true. Then he had me teach him some stuff about anxiety in kids because he said one of his kids might have anxiety. Then he thanked me for teaching him something . Wow. I have never had a dr ask me to teach him ANYTHING or THANK ME. I am impressed. Link to comment

Seraphim
Ok, first day of weaning there was instant pain. My scalp and face were actually on fire . Yeah, no I'm not doing that . Link to comment
sara-pezzini
Argh no! That sucks! That's an immediate stop and you'll know you can't be without meds now Link to comment
Seraphim
Argh no! That sucks! That's an immediate stop and you'll know you can't be without meds now Yeah ,the pain was there within a few hours . I mean it was bearable but who wants to live like that . It is exactly like it was before he added the Lyrica. So yeah no I'm not taking that that away . Link to comment
Seraphim
I am disappointed though that I probably won't live without medication now . Link to comment
sara-pezzini
Or you'll get to the same point as me eventually, the surgery....i think it's a better option than a lifetime of meds.....but the success rate of the surgery depends on a few factors, if you don't have it that long and if you have the typical variant. I qualify for both of those....if you have the atypical variant the surgery can even cause more pain Link to comment
Seraphim
It is a hard road. For sure. Link to comment
