yogacat Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Play stupid games, win stupid prizes, my gal nailed it.
Batya33 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 No link but heard some of Drew Holcomb's You Never Leave My Heart which he wrote 20 years after his brother died from spina bifida it seemed. Next Sunday is 20 years since one of my best friends died of breast cancer in her 30s. I miss her so. The parts I heard on a podcast spoke to me. 2

My best friend lost her friend to cancer a couple of years ago, also in her 30s... just terrible. My condolences. 1
ShySoul Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 And ever notice that Hermie doesn't have pointed ears? Is he really even an elf? Is there some conspiracy going on? Is he even more of a misfit then we thought? Stay you Hermie. The North Pole needs a dentist like you. 😎

Just had the 15th anniversary of losing my niece to a brain tumor. End of the month will see 6 years since losing my father. December is kind of sucky month on so many fronts. Maybe do something special in her honor? Have her favorite food or try some activity she enjoyed. Celebrate her life with joy instead of feeling down about her not being here. 1

She liked a certain food celebrity and watching the shows helped her. I pulled some strings and got her a meeting with her but she was too sick to go -however the person sent her swag so that was good. Also our son's middle name is named after her. She is in my thoughts in positive ways for sure. Very sorry about your niece and your father.
Jaunty Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I just heard this while driving through the rain, homeward from town. What a great song. 1
itsallgrand Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 This guy is great. Reminds me of the kind of songs my gramps would play when I was a kid. Stories, observations, and often pretty funny too. 2

I knew someone out there would appreciate it too, he deserves to be heard. We need music like this right now imo.

Why do I get the mental image of you shapeshifting into her? I've watched to much sci-fi. 😉 Very beautiful and poetic way of putting it. I kind of see myself as becoming one with the song. All the thoughts and feelings I carry with me, trying to make sense of why life is like it is, they get expressed through the lyrics and I find myself identiying and letting myself live within the song. Give me a song that stirs a deep emotion, sung by someone who can wring every last bit of that emotion out of it. 1
