She just ran into a woman she used to tutor. The woman has gone from not being able to read at all, to working at a daycare center and reading books to children. When they first started her oldest son was struggling in first grade. Now he's graduated high school and is training to be a technician. That is really changing a life. And to relate this back to listening to something, here's a song to promote literacy we got way back when we did our training. I am still friends/friendly with a number of the volunteers I worked with from 2002-2008 weekly or so at a shelter reading to children to give their moms a break and of course first and foremost promote literacy. It was amazing and I am in touch with on and off one of the children who was 10 at the time and struggling (also bilingual). Funny story -she loved Curious George books and we had a number of them so I'd read to her and she'd listen intently. Yes I believed in reading to kids and not pressuring them to read to me unless they wished to. After we'd read over a period of time at least a half dozen of them she said "What does curious mean?" It was precious. And fun to try to explain and curious is a great word especially for kids. We also did some work helping the women with their resumes, how to interview, etc. Words are our wheels for sure. I love -as you do -seeing how over time it really does change lives. And in your case the person who now pays it forward big time.
ShySoul Posted November 3 Posted November 3 "I never said that I want this This burden came to me And it's made its home inside" Maybe the monster is good? Dangerous because it brings light into the darkness?

That’s another thing I have to look forward to in life. Also, every time I hear this song, I can’t help but think of the movie She’s All That.
