Mesemene
link removed This is closest - but I tend to sub oatmeal for about 1/2 the flour in everything, and make some subs for seasonings - like curry powder with cilantro and parsley to save time. Or if I feel lazy - I get the morningstar farms ones If you do decide to use whole grain cereal/steel cut oats for part of the flour, I suggest letting it sit in the fridge for a couple hours BEFORE adding the baking powder, then add in the powder and do the 1/2 hour. Gives the oats time to soften. And a handful of sunflower seeds thrown in is mighty tasty... Link to comment

Tearsbegone
Tears, you don't need to look like a supermodel to be beautiful! I hope the gastro specialist has some answers for you though. It couldn't be some kind of food intolerance could it? As mesemene said, all you can do for the moment is support your system and your health in the best way possible. I'm just going through so much right now and this weight gain is really throwing me off. Like I said I never gain weight and my stomach is constantly bloated. I think it has to be medical related. I have no support it's awful. I just want my life back- it's a disaster. Link to comment
Tearsbegone
I think I might take up the green smoothie diet challenge and replace one of my meals a day with a green smoothie … not sure how long to do it for though. I might do it for a week at a time. Found some green smoothie recipes link removed. I want to do this bad! Link to comment

Tearsbegone
Yum -- great site! A perfect weight loss day for me would be: 1 smoothie, 1 huge salad, 1 huge bowl of bean/veggie soup..... perfect, when I can do it hahahaaa! But I'll try to stick to this regimen for now, until I meet my goal Be sure to post how that bean salad turns out -- it looks GOOD. I'm still getting over this horrible cold I've had for a week now and I just don't feel strong enough to start working out yet. I want to start this weekend, though. That sounds perfect! I hope you are feeling better soon! Link to comment
Tearsbegone
Because of my health problems exercise is hard- what do you guys usually do for your exercise regime? Link to comment
Tanzi
What kind of workout are you thinking of doing? Well I already have a stepper (with resistance cords) but that is more for body toning than fat burning. Nevertheless, there is nothing stopping me from taking it out of its hiding place and getting on it!! Link to comment
Tanzi
My current fave salad: Mixed spring greens (romaine, baby spinach, arugula, baby kale) tossed with just a tsp of pomegranate vinaigrette. Toss on some dried cranberries, about a tablespoon of crushed glazed pecan pieces, and 1/2 tsp parmesan. Top with chicken, tuna, or veggie patty. Add in some apple pieces for crunch if desired. Really filling, tasty, and yummy, and high in nutrition value for the calories. ((All this is making me hungry, and I can't eat til after my carpal surgery today! Ugh! LOL...)) The salad sounds delicious! All these fab recipes are making me hungry and I've eaten my quota for the day. I hope you recover quickly from your surgery. We shall miss you on here Had a fab bean salad today but I used a slightly different recipe from the one I posted on here. This one had a mint and vinegar dressing. I absolutely love mint, especially in salads with olive oil and lemon. Link to comment
quirky
I went to Aerobics class yesterday and Spin class today. I hadn't been in 3 months and I am aching! Ate healthy yesterday and most of today but had curry in a thai restauant out with a friend tonight. Link to comment
Mesemene
Just slowly typing one handed and checking in! Surgery went great. First time ever popping out of anesthesia like a nice sleep with no groggies or nausea! Tech was a bit freaked - he said one minute i was out, the bext awake and aware like nothing happened. This week since I can't do the gym, i'm thinking about getting some ankle and wrisy weights to wear around the house and when walking for a bit extra resistance Link to comment

Curry doesn't sound like such a bad thing to eat, diet-wise. Oh dear, now I'm craving curry. But nothing too fattening in there aside from some coconut milk, right? Link to comment

We still have to have a life, right? Please say yes because I meet with friends once a week to eat out! Just slowly typing one handed and checking in! Surgery went great. Zuri
I weighed in at 147lbs (or 10st 7lbs to fellow Brits) on Friday. I am a size 12 but creeping up to a 14 (which I believe is a US size 8 creeping up to a size 10, though I might have that wrong). As I said on my other thread I was 118lbs (8st 6lbs) when I met my ex. A whole 2st lighter and a dress size 8 (US 4?). So my target is to be 118lbs (8st 6lbs) by the summer. I will aim to weigh in (and maybe even measure in) every Friday. I just started reading this. How tall are you. That makes a big difference in your weight numbers. Sorry if you already answered this! Sorry if you already answered this! Hi Shal I am 5' 3' and have a very small frame. At 118lbs my body looks OK. At 147lbs it doesn't look so nice …. muffin tops, bit of a belly, excess skin and "orange peel" legs and arms. Urrgh! Link to comment

Good luck in your weight loss. I will go read this thread now and look forward to your updates. Is that the weight you are now? Yes feel free to pop in from time to time. Even if you don't lose weight, it may help to keep you focused on staying where you are … or just encourage the rest of us!! At my lowest weight (in adult years) I was 112lb. I may continue to that but I don't think it is totally necessary. Most people said I looked a little too slim (though that was people who had known me bigger) but I like that it allows me the scope to put on some pounds, say over Christmas, that I can lose again before the Summer and then put a few pounds on over the summer (which is inevitable when there are holidays on the horizon and the kids are home from school) that I can then lose again for Christmas. That is how it worked for a few years, until I met my boyfriend who became a "feeder" lol! He said I was far too slim and liked a little bit of flesh on a woman. Makes you wonder why we feel the need to do this doesn't it? That being said, there is, of course, health issues. I definitely feel some aches and pains creeping in as my weight has crept up. As I said I only have a small frame so it can't take too much excess weight (and I am the wrong side of 40 now) so I think it is important for that reason. ANYWAY … yesterday wasn't too bad for weight loss ….. considering. It was one of those extremely busy days where I was rushing all over the place. I was a bit naughty in the morning and grabbed some toast quickly (the last of my mixed fruit loaf that I had already made - my bread maker is safely hidden away again now). For lunch I had another bean salad. (Loving my bean salads at the moment.) For tea I had some oven baked salmon, grilled tomatoes and broccoli spears. Nothing fancy. Quick, easy but tasty. I am planning on making a vegetable soup tonight but we will see. I also want to make the falafel burgers that Mesemene mentioned on the other thread. I have already found a recipe. Link to comment
Tanzi
I am also taking up weekly Zumba classes with some friends on Wednesday evenings. I am sooooo looking forward to that. There had been some talk about it previously but I was really just assuming that TALK was all it was going to be. However last night they decided they were going to do it. They did send me a message but I didn't receive it until it was too late. So next week it is then! Link to comment
sharky988
I had a great day for weight loss yesterday -- kind of rebelling from my routine of soup/salad/smoothie, yesterday was SNACK DAY. I had half a coconut and untold multitudes of kale chips and several quarts of fresh orange/grapefruit juice. All that plus a huge salad, it was a weird day but I definitely feel thinner already and like I'm on the right path this morning. I've never done Zumba -- I'm curious to hear your thoughts! I'll be able to start kettlebells this weekend, oh joy. Link to comment
