Have heard countless BAD stories about women dating/marrying military men (and police) including women in my own family and an old girlfriend (20 years ago) I'd spent some time with recently.

There's a pretty strong culture of infidelity and substance abuse going all the way to the top of the food chain.

Don't go there..just got out of a relationship with someone in the navy. I saw him about 8 times in one year.... We were together for 4 before he went in the navy, lasted one while he was in it. Hardly any contact, away all the time, and I got the vague impression cheating on partners was common place from the way his friends spoke... trust me I am very good in long distance but this was another level. But I suppose it does depend on the guy and his age.

I'm married to an army man. I absolutely adore him, he's wonderful, but it's a hard marriage.

My husband is in the AF..and we are currently long distance. This life is not for everyone, and certainly not for those that are clingy/needy in relationships.(I grew up military, so I am used to the life).
