Thorshammer
I agree, everything is fresher after a good rain, I feel like it's a good cleaning, lol. Though, I have this magical ability to predict when it's going to rain, I get headaches up to a day prior to rain. I'm pretty accurate too, it's my super power To bad Quirky that I don't live in your town, I would be able to tell you when it is going to rain so that you would always be prepared Oh my god you are such a liar... Kidding! Might be the humidity, people with bad joints and stuff get a pain when the rain is coming - hey, that sounded cool... pain in the rain! Link to comment
Thorshammer
Exactly the same for me. When it rains...I go with the "unable to control" feeling it brings. It forces you to forget your plans. It has a life of its own...and then, so do I. I deliberately go out in the rain knowing I'll get wet. I like having my hair flick and stick in my face, become a mess, my glasses getting speckled or dripping, fogging up (the only time I like that.) I love its cleansing by ruining everything. It's wild. It's letting go. Maybe some day, when you have nowhere you have to be dressed up for, don some clothes that aren't meant to be neat and tidy...and go out there just to play with it, knowing it will not leave you intact and that's the point. It's really freeing. Rain is my friend. Me too, i look for any excuse to go out, or stay in.. or whatever, its all GOOD IN THE RAIN! I even love to go to work in the rain, it makes the day interesting. I just stand there and take it all in. And rainstorms in puerto rico... thats just art, you see it coming to. Link to comment

Yes, I'm sensitive to changes in barometric pressure, it started after a bad horseback riding accident were I got run over and kicked in the face, broke my jaw, head trauma etc. Link to comment

Yikes! You ok? I know a lot of people that get hurt on horses, i dont mess with horses because of that. Especially after what happened to Christopher Reeves. That and motorcycles. Link to comment

Ya, I used to do jumping too (like what Christopher Reeve was doing when he fell) and since my accident I don't jump anymore. I have fear now. Link to comment
quirky
I listened to the suggestions and bought myself a coat the other day, it has a hood on! I wore it first time today and wasn't as bothered by the rain because I didn't have to battle with an umbrella. I also bought some good shoes on sale and my feet didn't get as wet as with my other cheap shoes. I realised I haven't bought a coat/jacket in 5 years. I've had the same one where I keep sewing the pockets about once a month, sewing the buttons once every 2-3 months and it is overall very used. That's how I justified the new coat. It is good quality and I bought it half price on sale for £60. I have only bought very few items of that price in my life and I know it's not a lot I am just overal quite poor! I am starting to understand though it might be nest to invest in a couple of good items so I stay dry. Link to comment

zentoCC
I love the rain, it makes me feel like I'm in my own private bubble. My shoes have just decided they're not waterproof anymore though. I hate umbrellas so I bought a coat with a big hood and some gloves incase it's windy and I need to keep it down. You need to buy some wellies and splash in some puddles that'll cheer you up! happpybear
That's great about the coat, good quality stuff is worth the price, it will last much longer so eventually it will be worth it. I used to buy cheaper winter coats and boots to save money, but ended up having to buy new ones every year. Then I saved up and bought a $500 winter coat and I have had it for 6 years and it is still good as new. And it is super warm. Same with umbrella's. I find the more expensive the umbrella, the sturdier, which means it will last longer. I hate those cheap drugstore umbrella's that break apart after like 3 months. Link to comment
