Her mother still talks to me....

To further compound the feelings I had recently, I saw my ex's mother yesterday. We always got along well, she smiled and asked me how i was doing, blah blah. Long story short, I have the utmost respect for her mother but I wish she wouldn't speak to me anymore.

 

Everytime I see her, I have to pretend to be busy. Last thing I need is for my ex to think I'm trying to get back with her. Can't lie, I haven't forgiven her yet. Probably never will........ but I really want her mother to stay away. That's all.

I can imagine. There's no harm in being polite and friendly though. Keep it short. Avoid places you may run into her.

Aw, I understand. I'd probably be that mother (I really liked my son's ex-gf, and felt for her after their break-up, but it's probably better for her that we haven't cross paths since). If you see her again, it's ok to say "I can't talk now, it's not personal, but its for the best, considering. Thanks." Or something like that. It's ok to know that you have boundaries, maybe just temporarily while you heal

Why not just offer a passing hello as you pass her by? Being busy and walking toward something else isn't rude, especially if you throw in a "nice to see you," as you keep going.
