annabellevicto
Hi all. My boyfriend and I used to have mutual friends (a group of girls). When I started dating him about last year, one of them got mad that I didn't tell her and started to talk behind my back. My boyfriend then told me that they were spreading rumors about me during the summer. Now, he still talks to them, even though he talks bad about them to me. He has known them far longer than I have, and I don't want him to give up his long time friends over a year long relationship. What should I do? Should I be angry, or just let him do what he does? missmarple
You bet I would be angry! He'd have to choose them or me. So what if they're long time friends? If they were his real friends, they wouldn't be spreading rumours abourt his girlfriend. Link to comment

sammi87
They're not his "friends". Friends treat you well and vice versa. They don't ostracize your gf and you don't feel the need to talk bad about them all the time. I don't blame him for not making a huge, dramatic break with them...but he should have pulled away as soon as he realized how irrational and unkind their behavior was. Link to comment
