Nastka
It's kind of embarracing but... I've had huge problems with going to bathroom for 3 years. A month ago I found this greay cerelal called "Go Lean" it has like 10 grams of fiber. For a month I was eating 2 cups of it per day, makimg it 20 grams of fiber per day. I also drank 8 glasses of water each day. I had absolutely no problems going to bathroom and sometimes even went more then normal, but it was ok with me. Well, since last friday I did go everyday but not with everything, you know... I'm really depressed again. I was happy for only a month. What's happening? Can fiber stop working or is it some kind of constipation that lasts for a while and then disappears? Please help Quote Link to comment
San123
You should probably go see a doctor. Quote Link to comment

Scout
Are you experiencing a lot of stress? Because that can be a big factor. And of course, the more you stress about being constipated, the more constipated you get. Some things to try: 1) Take a magnesium tablet each night before you go to bed. 2) Alternative, take a dose or two of Philips milk of magnesia. That should really help, too. Keep drinking the water, keep eating the fiber. And try to do some things that relax you if you're experiencing a lot of stress. Quote Link to comment

Thanks..I didn't know there was a magnesium pill I did use Magnesium milk though. Made me sick right away! I don't think I've ever been sick like that. I spent all night in the bathroom, throwing up. So if I keep eating fiber and drinking water (and I will of course), it will restore again? I wasnt't stressed yesterday cause I knew I'd go if I didn't go the day before.. but now... catgirl82
when i was in college, i had a serious problem going to the bathroom (i went like twice a week). its because in those dorm bathrooms anyone can walk in at any time!! i got so stressed out and anxious over the whole situation, and it made it REALLY difficult to go. this lasted for 2 years. then i moved into a house with a normal bathroom and my problems went away immediately. so for me, once the whole stress and anxiety of the situation was gone, my problem went away. i ate alot of fiber too which sort of helped me. kashi is a great source of fiber (so are beans, apples, pears). whatever you do, dont take laxatives. they will give you terrible stomach cramps and mess up your whole system so it'll be hard to go naturally. if i were you i would just try to relax about the whole thing, its amazing how much of it is mental btw, i never thought i'd get so philosophical on a subject like this Quote Link to comment
Nastka
I can't stop rhinking about it. I'm so uncomfortable. My stomach is huge again and I can't wear jeans because it hurts. I have to go back to wearing the stupid sweatpants again for the rest of my life. That month was the happies of my life in 3 years. Quote Link to comment
