The importance of making sure you have ALL your belongings before you leave

In the UK it is the first rainy miserable day since my ex and I broke up in July. I was meant to head out for a walk with a friend despite the rainy weather, went to grab my snowboard jacket to protect against the rain and could I find it .... No! The last time I remember having it is at my exe's or when we went to Ireland to visit his parents. I'm SO annoyed and debating what to do, I really want my jacket back as these things are expensive and i cant really afford to buy a rrplacrment but I don't know if it is a good idea to break no contact . Is there any way if breaking NC to just get my jacket or should I just cut my losses and buy a new one despite the expense?

 

I'm not a hundred percent sure it is at his, I may well have lost it on the plane back from Ireland I just can't remember as I've had no need for it for so long.

Yep as the US Military says " Don't leave anybody behind" .... you will either need it or it will end up as a hostage.... and sometimes people will use belongings as a poor excuse to break NC ..... both dumper & dumpee

You don't know where it is... If it's in Ireland what happens ? you buy another one

 

If it's been thrown out.... you buy another one

 

If it's lost on the plane.... you buy another one

 

If you need to know where it is, ask as long as it's not a feeble attempt to break NC with the hope of getting something other than the jacket. If that's what you want, you can still ask by all means. But be honest with yourself, and us

NC is not an inviolable pact that you make with yourself and will get punished if you break it. Just ask if he has the coat, if he does, get it back, return to NC. If he doesn't, return to NC.

Hmm i think i'm going to sit on it for a week and see how i feel. My gut is telling me to just take the pinch, buy a new one and save face. I'm not texting him this week regardless as i think he's away in ibiza and would just feel smug i was texting while he's sat on a beach.

 

ps markie it's really not a feeble attempt to break NC, i was so angry when i realised earlier i spent a good ten minutes cursing!! I really do not want to break NC as i couldnt bear the thought of him thinking i was making excuses to contact him, or sending me an irritating response .. Actually this makes me think even more so i should just forget it.

If it's important to you, and has reasonable cash value, most normal people would ask and expect a reasonable response.... don't worry about the response, as long as you are being honest , that's all good

Well ..you can always forget about it now. If he finds it , who knows maybe he will send it to you in the future, and then you will have another jacket
