Not sure how to handle this situation? Advice or suggestions?

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this because it could've gone in a few other places. I am looking into info. on ADD because there are a lot of symptoms I believe that I have. I went to a holistic doctor last month to see what he can do as far as helping me. The remedy isn't doing anything for me and haven't noticed a change. I've been continuing to find as much info. as I can and I noticed it's best to find out info. as far back as school. So, I know I struggled throughout school and I thought I would contact my mom (today on my lunch break) to see if she noticed any other signs besides being a terrible test taker.

She calls me and I explain the situation to her and why I am asking. She suggested talking to a therypist and which I do think that's my best option instead of going to a holistic doctor or my reg. doctor. Think that a therypist would be the best to diagnose me and monitor anything. She calls me about 15 mins ago and she already told my sister about it. I understand why she would do that when I want to get some info. on how I was in school. Also, if she noticed any different behaviors when I was younger as well. She just started going on about my relationship with my bf and I told her it isn't just about my relationship with him.

I am seeking info. to help me understand and take care of myself. I didn't think she would run off and tell the rest of my family because I haven't offically been diagnosed yet. She was suggesting going with me to see a therapist and I told her 'No I can handle it myself.'

I honestly want to call back and tell her that 'it isn't just about what I am dealing with my bf but it's also with you.' I call her back and let her know? I am unsure of how to go from here! Advice!

I don't think you need to call her back. I would think you would have to go to a general practitioner first and he would refer you to the most appropriate doctor if he thinks that it is warranted. All the best.

Thank you for responding!

I didn't call her back just thought it through a bit more and realized there was no need. I am planning on going to my general doctor to get a referral to speak to a therypist. So I can at least get to the bottom of my issue.
