Definitely Understanding the Positives of No Contact

Good afternoon everyone:

 

Well over a month ago, ex committed (in writing) to a very minimal return of funds to me and of course I hadn't received a payment and was debating whether to write it all off or take him to court for about 10x what he had agreed to. Out of the blue, I receive the following text: "$200 @ Ray's [market] will be there tomorrow. Confirm No. ---/---/---." While I was really pleased to receive a payment from him, what got to me all day long was the impersonal manner in which he communicated w/me. While I assumed the text was from him, he didn't use my name, didn't close with his -I felt like a blank piece of paper...Just as he treated me after arriving in Alaska. It was incredibly hard to get him off my mind. While it's much better today, it boggles my mind that I would feel hurt now - after all that transpired and how I actually missed him for part of the time. I'm very thankful we've had such minimal contact. I don't know how I could have taken these feelings on a regular basis. Thanks to all of you who encouraged N/C initially. Warm thoughts to all who are feeling similarly.
