nasdaq Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I've known my best friend for around a year now. He's a guy and I'm a girl. We met at orientation and hit it off immediately, attached at the hip throughout the whole thing. We were separated for the summer but kept in constant contact the whole time. Ever since we've been at school we've gotten closer and stuff like that. We've always flirted back and forth the whole time we've known each other but we're naturally like that. We've had small kisses and cuddled at times. He's been to my house numerous times and I'm going to visit him this summer before school starts and I'm really excited. I've never known if there is anything more between us. We tell each other everything and both have had "relationships" with other people throughout our friendship. He is always the first person that I go to with anything. He joked that when I come over to visit him he's going to seduce me and "make me" have sex with him. I guess what I want to know is do you think there is anything between us either way? I admit that Ive had feelings for him on and off, but I don't want to ruin our friendship. He's also a huge commitment-phobe and doesn't want to get into a relationship for a long time ( for reasons too long to explain). I dunno, I'm just confused I guess.
RedDress Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 He's also a huge commitment-phobe and doesn't want to get into a relationship for a long time ( for reasons too long to explain) If a relationship is what you seek, get the relationship before the sex. Having sex is not the same as having a relationship...
Avila Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 RedDress is right. If you decide you want the relationship in the end, make sure of it before having sex. Also sex could seriously screw up your friendship. It's up to you to decide whether trying to get with him is viable but what i do know is that friendship really is the best foundation for an actual relationship. There seems like there could be something there but just enjoy the friendship anyway. Who knows?
