teenhearttrhob Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Love is the feeling of utter completeness. It’s the seemingly indescribable feeling that keeps you coming back to a single individual. It’s the feeling of wanting to become the best version of yourself, just to be able to make another person happier. Love is a concept that is involved in both your own self, and the individual that you are in love with. To be in love is to experience the single greatest feeling, which lasts longer than an orgasm, and that is the true cause behind kindness. All kindness is born of love, whether for another person or for man as a whole. Every story of bravery and heroic efforts is the result of an overpowering emotional drive of love. Love is the only thing that will cause a person to do something that might be harmful to their own selves, if only it could in some way increase the joy in a loved one’s life. Insanity is a form of love, as people fall in love seemingly over and over, expecting a different result from the last each time. A broken heart should, logically, overthrow any future feelings of love and make a person steer clear of those feelings, but love is not born of a logical nature. Love is the one thing that truly defies all logic, as there is simply no human explanation for love. We can try to explain it through the release of dopamine, and how that creates a connection between that good feeling of the dopamine release and that other person, but there is still no known cause for why love can be triggered simply by first sight. I’ve been lucky enough in my short 17 years of life to have loved twice. One of those loves is all but gone, with only the remnants of caring left for that girl, who broke my heart oh so many times. The other love is still a current feeling. I realized I was in love for the second time when I woke up thinking about this girl. I woke up, and the first thing that came to my mind was that I should text this girl and tell her good morning, and how beautiful she was to me. This became a pattern for me, and every day the same text would go out through the phone networks from my iPhone to hers, “good morning beautiful”. It didn’t matter if she replied or not, because all I wanted was to make the first thing she saw in the morning be a loving message from me. From then on I have continued to wake up, think immediately of her, and smile just a little bit. This girl is my world, and it hurts me to no end that I can’t be with her. This is the girl I can imagine myself being with for a very long time, as she is the most perfect thing to ever come into my life. I don’t necessarily believe in God, but if there was ever proof that a God existed, it would be through this unexplainable emotion that we call love. Science has an explanation for virtually everything else, but the causes of love are still a mystery. If there was ever anything to be truly thankful for, and to feel blessed about, it would be this emotion, this driving force of every action we perform as human beings, this feeling that I can only even begin to explain through one name, Teri. Love.
Helis4life Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 "Love" Is a state of being by which dopamine, norepinephrine and phenylethylamine are released in to the brain producing several physiological and mental symptoms including the feelings of pleasure, increased heart rate, increased excitement levels, elation, sleeplessness, loss of appetite. People in "love" have the same lowered serotonin levels as people who suffer from OCD. The purpose of "love" in my opinion is to keep two partners together in a relationship to facilitating the upbringing of any offspring.

Physiologically, love is addictive?
