i started taking birth control in may and i was going to tak eit for one month only because no matter her low low the dose it always seems to make me gain weight. not saying id rather take my chances and be skinny. just wanted for the month of may because it was a "party month" and better to be safe then sorry i guess.

im not sure if my body took to it. i took it as directed. the 1st sunday after my period started. i try n take it around the same time but i think i was on it for like 2 weeks and i forgot a pill. i took it as soon as i remembered the next morning but i had bad cramps and my period started. i recall it was light while still taking the pills and it eventually went away about days or so. i figured i was good so went about business as usual. he finished inside me a handful of times but not everytime.

i got my period in june after stopping the pills. it was a weird period tho. it was a veryyy slowww bleed. and it lasted longer than usual but i didnt bleed that much at all. just a lil bit every day.

being stupid becuase i didnt want my period for the 4th of july i began taking new pills mid month. my bf didnt finish inside me or anything we took percation as usual. i just tried to delay my period and it worked. there were a few mornings i had light cramps like it wanted to start but it went away with taking a pill. i stopped taking the birth control. its been 2 days. and i havent really had any signs.

ive been very off the charts laetly in mood swings. also pretty fatigued. idk if im looking for symptoms or if they match. im wondering if the june period was actually a period or not so much. if the may bc didnt take effect properly. am i crazy or does any of this make since. yes i kno go take a test...im def thinking about it but idk. gonna freak out if its positive!!! any advice/stories/suggestions/help??

Wait, what? You took the pill only for a month because it was "a party month"?

Are you kidding me? Go to your gyno and tell her that and see what she says.

What the? You absolutely cannot take birth control pills for a month, skip it, and do it again. It won't work. My doctor told me the first month won't be effective, it's still starting. It's only the first round.

You made a careless mistake. Just check up with your doctor to see what it really is. Pregnancy or not.

You shouldn't stop and restart the pills whenever you feel like. That's not how it works. Educate yourself on how it works by researching your brand. Each brand is a bit different but conceptually, the same.

yeah, the first few months of taking the pill consistently, you should be using a condom as well because you don't have the full birth control effect.

Also, STDs suck. I don't know if you have 1 partner or many, but if you are in a non-monogamous sexual relationships, you should be using a condom.

why dont u all educate yourselfs and read!!!! yes it was a party month because i was going up north with friendS and boyfriend and it was our 1 year his birthday and memorial day weekend in one weekend. im was certain drunk nights were ahead so i took extra protection. i skipped it one day! had those issues so im not sure if my body took to it or not. got a weird period for june. didnt want to start when i was supposed to in july falling on the 4th so i started taking some pills to prevent it. never over the time of me not taking it to me taking pills to not star did we not take protection or caution. its not like i was like oh i just spent half the month not on birth control and a few days on it so please finish inside me its ok. it was used to just delay my period and thats all. but i came off it.. and havent gotten it yet its only been 2 days but i was thinking i forgot the one day it made my body go crazy maybe my body didnt take to it in the moth of may. idk.

slow down read and get it right.

??????????????????????????????// did you tell your gyno this plan?!

While it's fine to make yourself skip a period for events, you NEVER should stop and start BC like that. It will screw you periods up because you are adding the hormones and taking htem away in a none consistent way. And as Annie said, for the first month of being on the pill (even if you switch BRANDS) you should be using a back up method because the pill is not fully in your system. Simply because you take ONE BC pill doesn't mean you are covered within 24 hours.

also im in a serious relationship what i meant by party weekend is that it was mine and my bfs one year anni his bday and memorial day weekend in one. we would be drinking every night. having drunk sex. so yes i took extra protection that month. not bang every guy i kno.

You're the one communicating with us, kid. So if everyone is misunderstanding you, the problem is more likely how you're presenting the situation rather than comprehension on our end.

Regardless, here's a thought. Why don't you educate yourself on birth control? You're a grown woman. You had to go to a doctor to get a prescription for the pill, and the doctor probably gave you instructions for use, and even if they didn't, there are these little printed words in an instruction booklet that comes with the pill that clearly informs you that they take awhile to kick into gear.

I'm a dude and I know this stuff

yes i took it for like a week to delay my period from coming. yes i realize that will not protect me against not having a baby. no i did not have un protected sex over the corse of this one week thing to delay my period. what im asking. in may i took it for a whole moth as directed. i skipped one day i forgot to take the pill. my period seriously started up that night i forgot. so i took it the next morning i bled lightly for if i remmeber maybe 3 days maybe less. so in kept taking it as usual. i ened the pack in june, got a june period. but it was weird kinda long and light blood was dark ect.. im wondering if my body didnt take effect to the pills. or that 1 day messed it up. ive been on bc before for years but i stopped so i kno no its not smart to skip a day but if u do its normally not a bug thing and your period certinly dont start up the night u forgot a pill. but idk. i kno they can all be diffrent and spotting can be normal. i took it as usual.

the only stupid thing here is me taking a weeks worth of pills to delay my july cycle. but i was also on a 90 bc pack before and i knew it would. not that its right. during that stop of bc and one week start i did not have un protcted sex. we went protected as usual. ive been off the weeks worth of [ills for 2 days now. no period. also had mood swings like crazy over the last month or so and fatigued. again i kno those can relate to other issues but just saying.

so for those who dont understand im not sure if my body i guess "accepted" the pills in may. sex was unprotected in may. but i was on the WHOLE pack as normal. got a period in june but it was weird. and took like a weeks worth of pills to delay my cycle in july. off the pills no period. just wondering what u think. i do believe this site is for help. not for bashing actaully. so if your just gonna talk trash get the **** out. im sure your not the brightest bulb and have made ur lifes share of stupid decisions. no where in there did i say i took it for a week and expected to be covered. or that a party week consisted of ****ing all kinds of random men.

1. Yes, you can start the night you forget a pill. I do. If I forget a pill, within 24 hours I have a very light period that lasts a few days. Your body does not not take the pill simply because you skipped one day. As long as you used protection for a week after that skipped pill, you are covered.

2. Why are you not CONSISTENTLY taking the pill to be covered? Quite honestly, I have no words for that.

3. Your body took the pills if you have a period in June. If your so worried about your body maybe not accepting the pills, I would suggust actually consistently staying on the pills month to month rather than jumping around, other wise your going to have these same questions forever and ever. That, and the method with which you are using them now is going to screw your periods up majorly.
