lovinggirl Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I always get at least one big acne with cyst during my period. If I squeeze it, it will leave a scar and then dark spot. If I don't squeeze it, it will leave a dark spot too! The dark spot stays at least 6 months or sometimes years... I'm really tired of it. When I'm not PMS, my face is smooth and clear. I don't know how to prevent it. Everything I do, can't prevent that one big acne to come out during my PMS. I also have emotional break down during PMS. I've tried to have supplement like evening primrose oil, I though it helped, but apparently it doesn't. I still have that sensitivity during PMS.
nutbrownhare Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 You can speed up the healing time, and minimise the scarring, by using lavender essential oil. Apply it neat, three times a day, with a clean fingertip. I used to suffer from terrible PMS, and my GP gave me hormone supplements - norethisterone if I remember correctly - to very good effect.
bluevision10s Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I've never had your condition before but I've had alot of acne through highschool and college. I found out that when I changed my diet my skin radically cleared up. I don't know if this will help but i suggest you watch your diet during you period. For me, if I avoid junk food and eat whole foods including fruits and vegetables my skin doesn't break out and always looks clear. gl though hope it clears up quickly.
lovinggirl Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Thank you! Finally someone responded! Where to buy the lavender essential oil? Can you recommend any brand? Btw, just curious, when you suffer from PMS, do you mean emotionally or physically?

Btw, just curious, when you suffer from PMS, do you mean emotionally or physically? It's been years since I've had PMS because of having hormonal intervention prescribed, but I used to suffer terribly emotionally - at worst, persistent suicidal thoughts, and if I put them out of my mind then I'd have suicidal dreams instead. You don't say where you're based, but lavender essential oil can be bought from any chemist in the UK. There are many brands available - all you need to do is check that it's pure essential oil with no additives. It's the one most widely used in aromatherapy because it works for many different conditions, and is therefore the one that's most easily come by. Good luck!
