Maritza Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ah, the pleasures of working in the same place as your ex! I ran into him 2 days ago, and we just said "hi." But today... we talked about really awkward things. As you may know already, this man left his wife to be with me, and then we ended up breaking things off because, as someone on the forum said, he "got cold feet." I told him that for me it would be helpful to know whether he had reached a decision and was just afraid to tell me. He responded that he is still confused, still seeing a shrink, not sure about whether he should just go back to what he had, but not able to get over me. I told him that this felt like a kind of limbo, but that my attitude was, no matter how confusing all this as for me, to act and think as if the break up was final and move on with my life. Of course, I'm just trying to convince myself, I guess, but I hope that you can agree with me that this is all very confusing. He was trembling like a leaf when he saw me, and it's very, very hard not to get my hopes up. So I guess I'll just have to go on faking it.
Tom1990 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Gads, I know the feeling. The worst for me is, when we broke up the first time, I worked hard to convince myself it was over for good. And then we got back together. GAH. How close are you and your ex's workspaces?
Maritza Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Well, we don't work in the same building, and I try to avoid places where I think we may meet. Today, I just had to run into him in the parking lot! This is bound to keep happening, so I'd better prepare myself.
