I know a lot of you will be completely against it, however....Try to keep an open mind. I have been contiplating this as a "part time" job for about 2 years now and have been practicing in front of the mirror since I was about 10.

Anyone who has been through this as a career and tips for me as far as handeling clients and as the client list developes, there will be regulars right? So how am I going to deal with that as well? I am just pondering still, unsure of which place I would want to work at and have not yet got my entertainers liscence, however I have checked out a few places already. (I also was wondering if strippers get any benefits, like free waxes and discounts on the life style pretty much?"

Thanks for any input =)

That is the point of this post is to get information on the industry....It may not be for everyone, but Id like to study a bit about it...The ins and outs....

I am young and will not be forever, and i have a pretty slim figure with average chest size....just thought itd be fun for part time. I mean, weekends, not every single day....I have a day time job already... There is also drink servers at these types of places who make very great money and do not get butt naked, thats another position I am interested in...

I will try an find some links to post to back up what I am about to say.

I worked with a girl who worked as a stripper for four years. Most of the girl she worked with, and she herself, had/have substance abuse problems. In the club she worked in it pain killers where big. Many of the strippers could only do what they did if they were mentally checked out by taking these substance. Low self esteem, abuse at the hands of owners, high ranking customers, boy friends etc were common.

The girl who entered for "part time work" or with a plan to "get out" in a set amount of time never did. Most blew their money on the pain killers, clothing, partying etc. None of the girls my friend knew got out of the industry except her.

Most of the girls who entered with natural bodies like you ended up having a lot of plastic surgery because that industry destroys your self image.

One more thought, if your "smart" you can find away to make money without taking off your clothing. I know a person who got a law degree but hated working in a big firm. He went into business for himself. But the only space he could afford was in an area with a ton of strip clubs. Now, he makes a ton of money in cash doing little more then filing restraining orders for strippers who are regularly harassed.

Another thing to consider is that you will be judge by people who find out what you do. Is it fair? No. I really liked my former-stripper-friend and never held it against her. But not everyone is like that. Plus, in the dating world...it will just make things a lot harder for you. The likelihood of meeting a good guy at these kinds place are slim. *Disclaimer before I continue: I have no issues with my BF going to strip clubs as long as its not excessive and no physical touching happens* Many men who show interest in "getting to know" a stripper are married men looking to cheat.

Put yourself in a healthier place than this.

It's a sleazeball industry, filled to the rim with sometimes normal but the most hideous of sexual predators with dark fantasies. The turn-around rate is astonishing. Pay is cheap and competition is in large drones. There are other nastier and much more freakier women who work at the club and are absolutely willing to do much more than the others. So while you're sitting at home contemplating, these women are living that life. It's a fast-track life because you've got to be two totally different people; the one on the outside and the less classy one on the floor. That is how you make your income. Talk about potentially dangerous; the number of sick men that attempt to follow you from the nightclub to your home. To you, it's just a job, a way to make ends meet. To them, it's a fantasy turned reality and an admiration of your body, not exactly of who you are. I've known women to get into the industry simply for the money but realize that their dignity is much more important than the admiration and validation of pig men wishing to be entertained. And what do you get for your troubles? A dollar or two that gets thrown on the stage? It's sleazy, it's cheap pay for a total smack in the face to your self-esteem and ego. Yet, ironically, some women make a great side hussle out of it. Maybe they don't mind as much? But if you do mind and if you are second guessing the idea perhaps you should find something else that will enable you to keep your clothes on.

Just found this website: link removed

And, just thought about something else to consider, let say your start and things go well for awhile, then something happens and you make a complaint. There are dozen of girls who can replace you, so if you complain they just fire you and hire a pretty 18 year old fresh out of high school. There is no security in this line of work. You are easier to replace then a pair of shoes to the men running these clubs.

I read it and see nothing but negativity revolving around it, however if you know how to carry yourself and can defend and stand up for yourself and not get sucked into being "pimped out" And "drugs" and tells customers "NO" when they go to try to do more than whats allowed....Youshould be fine...but yeah....its def got me leaning towards no....however i need to make money and do wish to pursue a part time job in dancing, so theres clubs and stuff open on the wknd that i may be able to get into....does that sound a lot better? I know they prob don't make as much as strippers, but at least they are in there own little area on stage where or in cages that customers cannot get into..............thought about bartending as well, but have to pay a lot to do that

I was a stripper when I was 18. It didn't turn out to be very healthy for me but there are a lot of women who handle it fine. Some of the women I worked with turned tricks and were into drugs. Some were paying there way through school. Some were supporting there kids. Some of them were great and some of them were horrible. As for what you can expect that changes drastically from state to state (depending on what the laws are) and from club to club depending on what the rules are. You're best bet is talk to the people at the clubs your thinking about.
