GoneCrazy
Hey everyone. My whole life I always have been filled with anxiety, fear, and worry, and so on. Anyway I do 3 things that basically make it worse but that I can't live without. I drink a lot of coffee, I have a glass of win or 2 a night and I masturbate daily. Now i've read and heard number of times people saying that masturbation causes dopamine in you'r body, but in the long run it makes it far worse. But does the dopamine fully kick in when I ejaculate ? or soon as you start ? Lot of the time I would hold back and not finish so there would be pre-cum. Thanks for any posts. Link to comment

I think you probably need to look at a holistic approach rather that zeroing in on one particular habit or drink. Exercise, healthy diet, meditation relaxation etc. the whole works. Your body does produce dopamine naturally when you exercise or masturbate etc. I wouldn't consider masturbating once a day to be a too big a problem, as long as it doesn't interfere with your job or life, relationships, friends etc. I think it produces it as soon as you start, and some guys teach themselves to make this trance-like state as long as possible to basically tune out to whatever is happening around them. They are less interested in the fireworks at the end, but more interested in edging for a long time in that way it becomes more like other addiction habits like gambling for example where they sit in front of a slot machine also in this trance-like state. Long distance runners also can get into this trance-like state after running for a while the body kicks in this dopamine naturally. Link to comment
Generation
Where did you read that? As far as I know masturbation is good for you. Helps prevent certain cancers, relieves stress, a whole lot more just look it up.. I think the pros outweigh the cons, infact, I think those cons might even be myths. Remember "masturbation causes blindness?" that's a myth. Some people (religious leaders) will say anything to get you to stop masturbating and spread gossip and fear. Link to comment
pl3asehelp
I think the effects of the dopamine wear off in a couple minutes, so I really don't think it's that that's causing your fear, worry, and anxiety. I'd go see a therapist for those issues - they'll will probably steel you in a much different direction that will be far more productive for you than worrying about dopamine. Link to comment
