Astrology Sign Relationships...

Well, here's the thing. I'm into the astrology type of thing and stuff. To me, it's kind of like a mini crystal ball. The people born in those certain time periods act as if they should as I've read and stuff. I know it's kind of stupid to believe in, but it's a somewhat important part of my life.

There's this guy in my life, who've I've known since elementary school. He sweet and kind and all, but he's an Aquarius. I'm a Taurus. From things I've seen, those kinds of people never work well.

The thing is though, this guy and I have been friends since middle school and we talk almost everyday. I really like him but well, the astrology signs. Does being a certain sign mean you could never work well with another certain sign?

Also, my parents are a Taurus and Leo, which I've also researched and found don't mix well. They've been together for a long time though, and have no thoughts of divorce, which means their relationship worked out. Could that be an outcome if I were or he were to make a move?

Sometimes certain matches are said to not work out very well, but i think a lot of it really depends on how the both of you work things out.

If you're really into this guy and feel like you have a connection, I say go for it. Not everyone matches their sign description. My brother is and Aries but is such a homebody/not willing to take risks so his sign just doesn't match up

No. Your own parents are proof that no matter what the signs, things DO work out. According to the signs my husband and I are one of the worst matches, but we've been together longer than you're alive. You're really restricting yourself and putting a mental block on all potential future partners if you keep looking for only a "perfect astrological match".

I do follow signs, and my relationships matched up to a T. My last relationship ended on the reasons why are signs wouldnt work, even though when we dated i brought up our signs and the reasons we might not last- she laughed it off then became worried, she said herself that the "reasons" on this site did not match her personality at all- yet, she left for the same reason 3 years later (the accuracy was alarming). Same with all my experiences in relationships.

I dont look through crystal balls, nor do i subscribe or read peoples signs. I dont try to make people believers, i dont even know if i truly believe in it. But, it works, and if i "see' something that works and my experience has continued to prove it, then no one will be able to change my mind. If i find looking at a trash-can gives me some insight, then i will keep looking inside my trash-can, lol.

But, the way i see it, even if life was structured into a code like dna and signs were real, it still wont take into account our personal experiences and changes (even our dna can change). Like for example, a certain sign is very spiritual, what if something happened to them that they turn their back completely on what they once found interesting, what if their upbringing altered who they were away from their signs? Plus, sign-reading is interpretation by people, and the mass-media astrology is fast-food fed for laughs and giggles, it wont hold up to any serious study.

I dont take it serious enough to stop talking to someone because they are an opposite sign though. I still date them and have fun.

Your sun sign is just a tiny part of astrology. You also have a moon sign, rising sign, Venus sign, Mars sign, Mercury sign, all the way down to Pluto, as well as house positions and angular relationships called aspects. The sun sign compatibility is probably the least important thing in a relationship, really.

You can go to link removed and make a profile, go to the "free horoscopes" section, and find out all your other planet placements and aspects.

This world is drenched in superstition ( think the Middle Ages ). It is no surprise that we are born into this world, already wired to believe in " superstitious " things simply bc of the influence of the people / adults / elders / peers around us. I think that when we read astrology and freak out about how "accurate" it is, you have to stop and wonder as to WHEN and how did you particularly learn that an Aries is supposed to be "aggressive, ambitious and naturally fiery"? You probably learned about astrology in your teens when your mind was impressionable ( not talking about the OP specifically, I am speaking about the general population ). So if you have read that Aries is supposed to be " aggressive, ambitious and naturally fiery", then you start to believe it and actually "act" like it. After all, our beliefs define our actions and who we are. In other words, we might not even know how Aries is supposed to be, but by virtues of what you read, then you have already painted of what it's like to be an Aries in your head, thus acting like an Aries and affecting the relationships around you as an Aries.

So, no, I would not rely on astrology to define relationships...bc people are much more complex than that. People are capable of going against societal belief systems.

My ex and I were supposed to be a perfect match based on the signs but we broke up...so no, I don't put much stock into astrology signs.

haha Same here. 'You are a perfect match!' Yeah, right. Actually we were a pretty good match, but I've had as a good a match with someone that wasn't 'aligned' with the stars, planets. They are fun to read but I wouldn't rely on astrology for relationship matches.

I dated someone who was my complete opposite sign (incompatible) and it seemed like a lot of the dynamics of our relationship were true to what the signs said.

Dating someone who is my compatible sign, and it's going well. Read some things that are SOOOOO FREAKIN UNBELIEVABLY TRUE! Like it said in one website "on January 1, 2012, a Capricorn is gonna hook up with an Aquarius" (fake example) and that was the day we hooked up! Out of 365 days in the year, out of all the 12 zodiacs, matched with another one of the 12 zodiacs, WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THAT?!

But when it comes down to it, I'm not really all that into it. It's just fun to read sometimes, interesting, I'm aware of the generalizations and all that. Sometimes they're true. Sometimes they're UNBELIEVABLY true (like what I posted above). Mind boggling.

I agree with most here who say the sign isn't everything but I do see where you're coming from. I'm a Tarus too! I have never had luck with and Aquarius usually I can't even be freinds with them they just rub me wrong even when I don't know thier sign! It's alwyas like a year later someone says "so and so's birthday is this week" that I think "oh there an Aquarius that's why we never got along." Haha! I tried it though I dated and Aquarius once and gave it the college try....didn't work out. I also dated a Sag once which isn't supposed to work either and that worked. I thinkit helped that my best friend is a Sag and I learned to love the traits they have that most of us Bulls can't stand... they became endearing to me somehow.

If you've known him for years and talk everyday and the things about him that scream Aquarius don't bother you now then I say give it a shot maybe freindship can override the sign part here. I think it's worth giving it a shot.

Well taking your example, not every Capricorn is going to hook with an Aquarius but then out of the whole country a few people are on that specific day, so really the chances of that happening are almost 1.
