Seattle area; Puget Sound or Victoria, CA - trip/activity ideas?

I'm visiting my long-distance partner in Seattle March 21-27 and am trying to plan some fun activities. We've both explored Puget Sound and Victoria before, so if anyone knows of a particular event/festival/attraction for this time frame, that would be great! Ferry/activity/restaurant/hotel or B&B would be ideal. I would love to go to Victoria, and it's been nearly a decade since I've been there, so if anyone has any insider tips, something to get away from the typical tourist route, that would be great.

Also, I am having a hard time finding fun activities in Seattle to do. I can't seem to find a decent website for music listings or events in the city. I've asked locals for recommendations, and I keep getting the same responses; Pike's Place, Seattle Center, museum etc. Beyond the top 10 tourist activities, which we've both done, we're at a loss of little adventure ideas in the city.

Interests: modern arts, ethnic foods, outdoors, cycling, walking, boats, trains, models, technology, Celtic, A Capella, musicals, drag queens

Thanks for reading!!!

I live in the PNW. You can ride the "Duck" ferry in Seattle which is a great tour. There is a ferry from seattle to victoria and vancouver bc. You can do the "Northwest Trek" which is a open range/safari type zoo.

There is a great museum/art scene in Seattle and Tacoma. If you've done "all of them" before, check out the Glass museum in Tacoma.

If you look up China Berry Hill in Tacoma, WA that is an amazing B&B that serves a five star breakfast, the owner has a cookbook published and I have personally stayed there. It is amazing. You can also go up in the Space Needle, go to pike place market and check out the fish wharf. So much to do!

FYI, it is not "cold" here. Just, rainy. 70% or so of the state is a non-tropical rainforest.

Wha?! Wa is an amazing place to live! The entire PNW is awesome.

I'll look around at my links and post more in a bit.

PNW = pacific north west?

Well, what's there to do there?

I've heard there is less crime up north than south, but not THAT much of a difference.

I heard there are more liberals, less racism.. but I don't know if I believe that. Gotta see it to believe it.

I know it's freezing up there, hope I don't get an asthma attack..... but, that's all I know

I'll be living in Bellingham Not that excited.

It is cold I went in Nov. and it was snowing like crazy. Well, maybe because I'll literally be living in the mountains -______-

EgoJoe- thank you, I will definitely check out the glass museum!

undead-where are you comparing the crime and such from? I love Bellingham and I would absolutely be overjoyed to live there! There is a well architecht-ed college there, pleasant walking trails, it's right on the water; there are many things about that town I would really enjoy! But I suppose if you are used to big city life it may take a while to adjust.

Can you tell me more about Bellingham?

And I'm comparing it with the southern states.

It's a pretty little town on the water. The waterfront is nice. The scenery is amazing. It's surrounded by mountains. The community has a cool vibe, parts are kinda artsy. The San Juan islands are close by and the hidden gem up that way. If you like the outdoors you'll never get bored there. It's also close to two of the great cities of the world, Vancouver, BC and Seattle. Portland, OR is fairly close as well, another great city. It does get cold but the summers more than make up for it. Long gorgeous days. The people are very friendly up there. Give it chance! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I think you’ll love Vancouver.

I live in BC, just a few hours from WA and we have really similar weather. The fact that it was snowing when you were there was a fluke LOL. It snows once or twice a year here, very mild, very wet, but with a good mix of sun. There is always lots to do in Victoria, museums, art galleries, the bug zoo (personal favourite) a nice seafood dinner, pubs, shopping, or even just a walk through Beacon Hill Park.

I think the young folks there will be very down to earth, easygoing, and fun. They may seem aloof at first, but that's just the rain.

I'm still looking for an overnight adventure. Ferry to Victoria is too expensive, so now thinking ferry to Port Townsend, Friday Harbor, or Orcas Island. Places to stay overnight jump in price in March though, so we're still having trouble finding that right place.

I'm scared to drive. I'm barely learning how to drive and we're living literally on a mountain. it's SO incredibly dark where we're at.

I also haven't really seen much civilization since my last visit D: lol

everything seems so far apart. I wonder what people do for fun in that particular mountainous town?
