I have been with this girl for almost 2 months. Her birthday is this Saturday and we are going to dinner and having a celebration party that night. I don't want to be an a**hole about this but I would have done this earlier, but Valentine's Day and her b-day in the same week seems kind of harsh. There reason I want to break-up is that I am a introvert person and she wants to communicate daily and it is hard for me to do that. I enjoy spending alone time and I have a new job coming within the next week. I would like to focus on that among other things. Do I tell her I am selfish and want to be a free bird? Help me...I don't want to break her heart, but the longer this is the harder it will be.

Exactly. Just tell her what you told us and be prepared for what you will say if she says "I'll contact you less from now on, but lets stay together".

[Which by the way is what I'd have suggested you say to her instead of breaking up - but figured if you are ready to break up with her rather than have this discussion than maybe you aren't that into her anyway?]

One can't help but ask why did you start dating her when you knew you're an "introvert and enjoy alone time and don't like communicating daily"? This is how most relationships will be, so does that mean you'll never want to be in a relationship? I got the impression you want to get out of the V-day and birthday scenarios and are looking for an excuse to break up.

Be honest with her and tell her the truth.
