tacs1895
I do my thing and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expecations, And you are not in this world to live to mine. I am I, and you are you. And if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful. If not, it can't be helped. It's the end of the Gestalt prayer, by Fritz Perls, a famous psychotherapist. It about relationships in general rather than just romantic ones, but I find it relevant. The whole thing is lovely, but I particularly like the last bit which I put into italics, which seems most poignant to those of us who hope one day for another chance... I think it's a nice attitude to try to hold on to, it's not too positive or negative, to me it's just sort of realistic but without being down-hearted. I find it very down to earth, inspiring without sounding naive, yet still beautiful, and also reassuring. Link to comment
