Erectile Dysfunction

I don't think I've ever been functional but I'm a fairly healthy guy. 31 years old. I workout regularly, body fat is below 12% rarely drink, but I've never been able to maintain an erection with a woman and have intercourse for an extended period of time. I've been with three girls and I've had problems with all three. However, I masturbate regularly so I have an interest in sex but do so in a prone position, not in the standard way. I'm really in love with my current gf, who I've been dating for a year, but it's becoming a huge deal in our relationship. She feels frustrated and I feel ashamed. I can't figure it out, so I am going to the doctor this week...I was just curious about what they check for, and what problems possibly could be. She thinks its psychological, but if it is, how on earth is that treated and how effective is it?

What do you mean by "prone position"?

The fact that you are having difficulty maintaining an erection gives me the feeling that either your Testosterone is low OR you get very anxious during sex and that stress makes you lose the erection (it could be both). Take a blood test and check both Total and Free Testosterone and see if they are in the normal range.

OP, ever hear of the term the "Grip of death"?

Do you masturbate every day? Sometimes when men masturbate too much that "grip of death" makes real sex with a women much less pleasurable since usually they're not nearly as tight as your hand might be. That may be a cause of you losing your erection.

Just throwing that out there as a possible reason. Try backing off on masturbating for awhile and see if it helps.

Prone means face down. I still use my hand but I can't do it standing up or lying on my back. If I don't masturbate for a long time than I can do it in a non-prone position.

I can't imagine it's low testosterone. I lift weights and put on muscle fairly easily. Don't think I could do that if I had low testosterone.

My theory is it's due to masturbation (frequency and technique) and watching too much porn.

Even though it's one of the less common causes, this makes me think that it may be a circulation issue where the blood pressure in the penis can't be maintained unless it's the "low point" of your body. I'd see a doctor asap, and get tested to see if there's any physical cause.

Watching too much porn can definitely also cause problems. Your brain literally makes a new emotional connection to the pornography and it competes with your gf. The way it works is like having another woman on the side. You can become less interested in your gf. Positions don't mean that much, it is just what you are used to, it is definitely possible to learn new positions. I think you know what to do lay off the porn and masturbate less. It may help to give up your internet connection for a few months, it will make the porn less available.
