Good books for a 20 something guy?

It depends on what kind of perspective you're seeking. Financial? Philosophical? etc. Based on your answer I'd recommend differently.

I suppose philosophical?

Basically, I'm down about life and I think the way I view life probably needs an adjustment. I was looking for some books to read that may get me thinking a bit more positively about life.

How about just relaxing and enjoying a good read? I can suggest a trilogy of books which are excellent--very well-written, fun, interesting, and they definitely look at the world a little bit differently, get you thinking.

The author is Nick Sagan, the books are:

1) Idlewild

2) Edenborn

3) Everfree

Again, excellent books. Highly recommended.

Yeah, I'm not really looking for full on philosophical musings from a Tibetan monk in the 1950's hahaha. Just wanted to read something that would get me thinking about things in new, interesting and helpful ways. If they are entertaining and well written that's a massive bonus.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll read some additional reviews and consider ordering them.

Think and grow rich - Napoleon Hill.

I call it a ''blueprint'' for life.

Great book, also read this following, make you a better person:

"The way of a superior man" - David Deida

"How to win friends and influence people" - Dale Carnegie

"How to argue and win every time" - Gerry Spence

Jonty! You should read 'Feel the feel and do it anyway' by Susan Jeffers. This book changed my life! it's really helpful with organising your life, how to overcome obstacles and build better relationships and just covers everything. I can't speak more highly of this book, it made me feel so much better and I even highlighted some important paragraphs which I still re-visited sometimes when i need a confidence boost or to put things in perspective.

Hey Voguester,

I've heard that book is pretty good! I'll have a look at it. I'm going to order a few books tonight off the internet and I think this will be one of them.

"Beloved" by Toni Morrison

"East of Eden" by John Steinbeck

"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand (this one is long and a bit tedious at times but worth it when you get to the meat of the message)

"A Scanner Darkly" by Philip K. * * * * (they made this one into a movie but the book is way better) Ha ha that's funny they bleeped out his last name. Rhymes with "lick"

All of these books made me think, and changed my perspective.
